My current list, Praise the list or rip it apart, just let me know what my fellow lustrians think. Slann BSB Focus of mystery(loremaster high) channel combo OB CO Piranha Blade Charmd shield STR pot Tetto'eko Scarvet GW CO armour of destiny 20x Cohort Stnd Muso 20x Cohort Stnd Muso 15x Cohort Stnd Muso 1 krox 10x Skirmishers Javs 10x Skirmishers Javs 18x Skirmishers Pipes (I somehow have access to enough skinks, it scares even me a little) Basti Solar eng 6x Camos 7x Krox, Champion 24 TG stnd Muso banner of swiftness I have had my test game against some fairly filthy ogres. And even after hellheart made my slann fight demons in the nether at the start of my second magic phase, and the krox getting thourghly belted by charging mournfang(how are these a thing really?) My invincible scarvet(seriously he took 5times his points before going down) A good showing from my TG and somewhere in the realm of 600 poison shots from the little lizards, I came away with a solid victory. For those that care this is a 3 atm
How do you get a 3 out of it? Channel combo is power, tetto is (i think). But you have Krox unit which counts as soft, from memory, so I count it as a 4. I'm glad you've got the kroxigor in there because I get really nervous only having one combat unit (skink cohorts don't count, coz they suck). Tell me though, why the banner of swiftness?
Mounted Scarvet is another. The Krox are far more fragile then I first thought. They might be able to bring the pain but atleast they are something big and scary for my opponent to look at. I took the banner because my army is movement 6 or better. And everytime I field saurus they seem to get left behind, so anything that helps them keep up is better in my book. Though I really need to get a few more practice games in too be sure another TG isn't better.
Makes sense. I must have overlooked that. Well you could use the tetto vanguard to get them out there. But I tend to play the static turn 1 and 2, then advance. So if you play the same game, you can advance the TG earlier and let the Krox catch up. You're on a comp 3, so that means you've got to pull out a decent win to actually win against softer lists. I don't have confidence in the kroxigors to be able to do enough killing to provide that win. Str7 is best against high armour, so you've got to ensure the charge on them (as high armour, usually means high str charging) so it's possible with a bit of flanageling.
It's not uncommon for me to have every unit(skinks the obv exception) in combat at the end of turn 2. And i'm banking on Hand of glory and wyssans/miasma for combat buffs. not to mention all the heavens ones. Still I have almost no practice with the list and even less with high magic. So nothing like str7 to fill the void
Might I ask how those 18 Skinks with blowpipes perform for you? They seem like a strange unit. Also, what are your primary targets for Tetto's vanguard? - Gork
I've only fielded them once so far, but performed quiet well. It helps alot having hand of glory to give them the much needed pip of BS. As for the Tetto VG it all comes down to the game. I've used it a fair bit now and no single target always ends up with it. Though the scarvet does seem to get vanguarded more then most
