Hello there, This is my first shot at a 2000 point list so any advice is welcome! I have limited units at my disposal so here are the units I own right now.... Scar-vet, 2 skink priests, 36 Saurus Warriors, 36 skinks, 8 Cold One Calv, 10 Temple Guard, 3 Terradons, 2 Salamanders, and a razordon. I plan on grabbing a slann and a steg very soon so that i can play in higher point games. If you think that I really need something let me know so that I can throw it into the order! My friends that I play with use primarily high elves, empire, dark elves, and warriors of chaos so it may be good to keep in mind while looking this over. Have at it! You should combine the saurus into one unit. You should also proxy (until you get them in) 5 of the saurus so that you can take 16 TG. That will be the minimum you need to fully protect the slann. You should shoot for either 20 or 25 total though. Also, since you have a razordon, proxy it as an additional salamander. I would like to see some chameleon skinks in all lists as well. You should have 2 units of at least 6 (but you could make 5 work). The chameleons are kind of expensive, but you could always get a skink skirmish/cohort box and convert a few. Hope this helps.
Thanks! Ya, I usually put all of my Suarus into one unit, but now, because my friends and I are playing higher point games they're bringing more wizards. And more wizards = lots of purple sun/pit of shades tests. However, when I do get the block into combat they were solid. I think I'll try it both ways. Also ya chameleons have been on my radar for a while. Unfortunately they are quite expensive, 25 bucks for 3... thats $100 for just 12! As a kid I don't have a ton of money to spend but I'll definately like to get some. As for the Temple Guard it sounds like a plan. Either that or I'll just buy another unit of them, I'll have to do it sooner or later. Thanks again!
Really think about getting a box of skinks to convert into chameleons. You can search our paint forums for some examples. It could be as simple as painting them camo or something. You could go as far as trimming off their crests and addidng bulbous eyes. Regardless, it is well worth it. A box of skirmishers is about $35 vs. the $100 for the chameleon models.
