7th Ed. 2k Lizard army built mainly for CC

    ok so normaly i go for lots of skink priest (i dont take a Slann because i try to stay away from "Cheesy" units and i found nearly unstopable in the magic phase, which realy isnt fun for me)

    All other matters aside, here is my list

    changed the loadout on the Oldblood, i added Blade of Realities instead of Scimitar of sun resplendent.

    Looks like a pretty decent list, however I would strongly suggest losing the ranked skinks for skink skirmishers.

    thx for the suggestion i was thinking the same thing, however i will give the ranked skinks a test run and see how they play for me. But i probably will change to skirmishing units.

    @Craken- you were completely right i played 3 games recently two against Dark Elves, and one against Ogres.

    Ranked Skinks FAILED COMPLETELY in the dark elf game, but during the ogre game i switched my list up to include skirmishers and they baited his ogres in all types of Horrible positions

    Game Results

    Dark Elves=both SV for the elves

    Ogres=SV for the Saurii Woot!

    Well, as you have already played the list, there's little point commenting, but... i will do it.

    Starting with the heroes:

    - The old blood is o.k., but what he needs is more strenght, no more attacks, therefore i would switch the scimitar for the +1 strenght.

    - The scar-vet with the jaguar charm is useless, as you are not going to be able to use it (with a minimum magical protection from the enemy it's not going to be of any use, and you don't have a powerful magic phase to make the enemy use his scrolls and dispell dice in advance). I would make the scar-vet a BSB on cold one with the venom of the frog and a spear.

    - If the enemy has a pair of war machines, the skink chief is not going to last. The use of a skink chief is not the pure combat, but to hostigate and kill wizards and war machines crew; i would mount it on a terradon and give him the scimitar to give him more attacks.

    - A plain priest with a scroll and the diadem should be of more use than the one you have there, as it is much cheaper and will give you the same dispell dice.

    For the core units:

    - The saurus work better in units of 18 (rows of 6) with spears, and are cheaper thn a big unit of 24. But in this way you would need 2 units, in order to be able to stand whatever charges you.

    - Ranked skinks? In a unit made for close combat? Never. But if you want to try them (as you have done) at least make the unit capable of killing something, that is with a pair, or even 3, kroxigors and standard and musician, and even ith a BSB skink chief in the unit.

    - The swarms are of no use in this type of army, as they are use for standing (as they have a lot of wounds each) and therefore charge the enemy unit with something quick as kroxigors or cold ones. But i don't like them and, IMO, they are only useful to decorate the bases of our miniatures.

    - As you have seen YOU CAN'T GO TO WAR WITHOUT SKINKS SKIRMISHERS!!!! A pair of units with blowpipes at least (i recommend 3).

    For the special units:

    - Only cold ones? In an army made for combat you need at least a unit of kroxigors (a unit of 3 is great to support charges from the flank), and a unit of terradons to do the same but from the back. And only 5 cold ones is too small to do anything, i recommend a number of 6 with banner and, if you get the points, musician, but the captain is only useful if there is a hero in the unit. And 2 units would be perfect, but a stegadon is great also for support.

    I would also recommend a salamander to hostigate and have a little fire power, but it's not really needed with the skirmishers and terradons.

    Better luck with the dark elves next time!

    thnx for all the advice, however i am at a point where i cant buy a lot of stuff. so the kroxi and another hero are off limits as well as the teredons. However i have switched to skirmishing units.

    now this army was made for a few players in my local gw, that have no magic at all in their lists. And instead of taking advantage of that and crushing them with magic i have made another list(this one) for that purpose but if i was gonna make this my permanent list i would add most of the things you advised.

    thx for all the help and hope u see why my list was built in such a way(it was never meant to be competitive)
