Basicly i'm finding myself torn between fielding a lone or a TG Slann for an upcomming 2k turnie.

Mostly because i know i'm likely to be facing WoC/HE spamming purple suns at me - taking a tg + slann would give them a juicy target for that :(

    Tg list:
Slann + extra dice + all spells + cupped hands + bane head + BsB
Scar vet + GW + Armor of destiny
    Saurus x 25 + banner
    Saurus x 24 + banner
    TG x 20 + FC
    Baby Steggie
    Chams x 6
    Chams x 6

    Lone list:
Slann + extra dice + all spells + ethereal + feedback scroll + bane head + 2+ MR talisman
Scar vet + GW + Armor of destiny
    Saurus x 25 + banner
    Saurus x 24 + banner
    Shrox of 24 skinks + 3 krox + banner
    Baby Steggie
    Chams x 6
    Chams x 6
    Sallie

Not a major deffirence in the lists, it's basicly TG slann, vs lone slann + shrox.

Any comments/critics/whatever is greatly aprieciated :)

Either way, you're slann (or the slann and temple guard) will be the target of the purple sun spell. Really, what the choice comes down to is which lore are you taking? If you are going with Life or Light, take the TG. If you are going with Death or Shadows take the lone slann. Make sure that you take cupped hands of the old ones either way on the off chance of a miscast (even with life, there is always the chance to role a 1 on the throne of vines 2+).

In my experience, I have played 4 games with my slann and only miscast one time. I want to miscast so I can use my cupped hands, the dice gods just do not want that to happen though.

Both lists are tooled for life, with the option of going metal now and then :)

Yer, i personally like the tg list, though the pointsink is just really hard to recorver from, if it ends up destroyed by turn 2.

You could always take Life. Drop the cupped hands and take a cube of darkness. You could ensure that they do not miscast by taking becalming cogitation (instead of etheral) as well. You could dispell their first spell and potentially end their magic phase. That will get you through the first turn at least.

Another option to take against the purple sun is to take Lore of Light and cast speed of light at the higher casting value. WS10 and I10 to all units within 12 inches will assure you a good survival rate against the purple sun.
