Hey all, im always looking for advice in the forum but just now i get registered as im new on the army and in the game i need advice on a slann army with the new thing that ill buy tomorrow. Heres the kind of list that i thinking to make. slann - general - BSB - Sun standard of chotec mystery rumination Skink Priest lv 2 dipel scroll cloak of feathers Saurus scar vet - shield, spear, light armour; sword of battle - 15 saurus warriors - full command -spears 3x10 skink skirmisher bpipe 20 temple quard - full command totem of prophecy 3 terradon riders 3 salamander hunting pack 5 cold one riders champion, 1992points. thats it. but im really thinking about to take another skink priest and down something, but i was afraid of the saurus dont do might things then i picked scar vet. ps i dont have stegs, and i dont have money for then now lol.
Here are some pointers. Feel free to use/ignore/modify/get inspiration from them in any way that you like. First off, this is a rather balanced list based on a slann. It is not that magic heavy so if you were thinking of having a magic army, there are many changes that you need to make, including adding at least another priest. I know you said that you don't have a steg, but if you seriously want a magic army you definitely need at least one EotG. Give the slann the cupped hands of the old ones. Reduce size of TG. I find 14 to be enough, but others prefer 16. Also, you can remove the totem IMO. You should also divide the salamanders into 2 separate units for obvious reasons. I usually use 2 units of 1 pack each and find them to be enough. I think that 3 terradons are a little to little. They are GREAT in game and at least 4 in a unit work miracles. If you can spare the points try taking 2 units of 4. As to the scar vet, you don't need the spear seeing a he is not mounted (when mounted, +1 str on charge. when not mounted, spears allow model to attack from second rank BUT a character isn't placed in the second rank - see rulebook for reasons). Apart from this, having a magic weapon negates mundane weapons other than hand weapons so you can't use it even if you wanted to... which you don't. Also, I have tried the sword of battle on occassion and find it rather useless. You would be much better off with the burning blade of chotec. As I said, these are all suggestions that you can use to get ideas to further improve your army. As is, it is an ok balanced list so you could try it out with some minimal changes (especially to scar-vet)
Thanks for the advice. i see your point As for the the cupped hands of the old ones i agree, and i really want know witch ohter magic itens should i take for slann? just theses hands of the old one, or more? and of the sacred plagues, is 2 enough or more? Steg is my next step on the army thats for sure, but i cant really take then now. I never tried 2 units of 1 sallies each (i played 2 games with unit of 3 and was really nice) but i can try, and this save more points. I agree with you about the terradons they're wonderful for me, as i play agains orks and high elves, and the last 2 game i played both of then have balistas/machines. but i dont have enough models, i only have 3 terradors i forgot that part of the scar-vet ill try remake thanks for sharing you points. ill learn something from here
