i was thinking of adding a Skrox unit, but as i don't have the models... i won't. any feedback is wellcome, it seems pretty solid and it served me well, so now i'm wondering how it can be improved

Looks like a solid list. You seem to have what it takes to counter pretty much anyone. How's the EOTG now? Is he really worth forsaking Scar-Vets?

its great for casting, the ward save is good in some cases and impact hits + burning alignment are better than ever since you really have to kill a lot before they get to strike back.
unfortunately charging infantry blocks in teh flank and watching them run like little girls after the combat is history, but killing elite infantry or just helping saurus are viable actions for the stegadon, and since it will probably survie you have a total of (with butning alignment) D6 S4, 2D6+1 S6 auto hits (imopact+thunderstomp) and 3 more WS 3 S6 attacks. i have to try the spear steg once, should be awesome

Personally I see the EOTG as more of a liability with the new victory point system, and the ease in which he can be killed(no guess range, no partials, and TLOS). I would rather add a Scar-Vet and make each salamander group 2 strong. But the EOTG still has a place, and it is a darn fine model.

Yeah I'm a little ambivalent about fielding an EOTG now. I really wanted and planned on getting one, but it seems to me that it has become more of a situational unit than a mandatory one.

it depends really. while a spear steg has more hitting power in CC, especially now that models are removed from teh abck and you want to kill as many as possible before they get to strike back to maybe lower the ammount of attacks you get, the EotG has a nice 5+ ward against shooting, burning alignment is the only thing we have against cavlary unless you count the dwellers below if you go for life and if you fail a dispell you still have a wizard with +3 to dispell for other spells. if you have enough dice the lore of heaves is quite neat, the big comet is one of the best spells we can get our hands on and even reroll 1's isn't so bad. all in all a steg of any sort is worth it, but i like the eotg more, since the war spear has extra D6 impacct hits, while the eotg has D6 S4 no armor save in a random area around it, it can potentially casue more dmage while still being rather deadly in CC. ofcrouse now it has to be supported by saurus or TG but it still fill the same role as it did in 7th.
