    Hi,

Does anyone know a good army list of 3000p to verse against night goblins, trolls squigs and lots of fanatics? No orks. Any help appreciated.

At 3000 points, you can take just about everything in the lizzie arsenal. Based on night gobbo opponents, the biggest threats are going to be fanatics, war machines, trolls, possibly arachnoroks (giant spider) and chariots. I would recommend the following:

    1) a slaan/old blood combo with the old blood on a cold one with the blade of realities & dawnstone for mobility (but keep him in a unit or he will get nailed by war machines). The OB can take out trolls, giant spiders or just about anything else in the list with relative ease since every hit is a LD test and night gobbos have very low LD. Any lore will work for the slaan but you might bring the diadem of power to store dispel dice since gobbos can steal your dice if they successfully cast a spell.

    2) Heroes - scar vet cowboy and maybe a skink priest scroll caddy. You can never go wrong with a SV but the priest is optional unless you go light/fire with magic missiles, in which case the priest is useful when the slaan's unit is in combat. Blade of chotec might be good for the SV to deal with trolls.

    3) Core - 3-4 units of chaff to trigger/shoot fanatics, 1-2 units of ~25 saurus and a unit of skrox (to deal with the giant spider since skrox cannot be thunderstomped). Saurus can readily beat gobbos in combat and thus don't need overwhelming numbers.

    4) Special - war machine hunters and fanatic triggers with 2 units of chameleons. Block of ~25 TG. The TG will crush everything in a night gobbo army other than trolls/giant spider and even then can do a pretty good job. Key is to get the TG into combat as soon as possible and at maximum strength. If you sit back, the war machines will pummel so it is imperative to have the fanatics triggered and removed in order to get this block safely into combat.

    5) Rare - couple packs of sallies to cause panic checks, chop massive hordes down to size and, lest one forget, to kill war machines or to take out chariots (especially from a flank). Against s3 troops, sallies are quite good in combat and their movement and swiftstride give them very long charge ranges. An ancient steg would also be useful. It will draw war machine fire, thus saving your infantry blocks and between the terror checks when charging, impact hits and thunderstomps can really help out in the combat department.

That should be ample. Good luck and have fun - gobbos are full of surprises for both players!!

Thanks. I just posted an army list of what I think I should use but im unsure if I should use an ancient steg or 3 salamanders.
