ok here´s a 3000pts list that I just made up for fun, but I hope I´ll be able to play it soon LORDS- 721pts Slann BSB higher state of consciousness focus of mystery Saurus Oldblood light armour, shield Carnosaur HEROES- 520pts Saurus Scar-veteran light armour, enchanted shield Sink priest lvl 1 plaque of tepok Chakax, eternity warden (his equipment) CORE- 750pts 29 saurus warriors hand-weapons and shields full com. 27 saurus warriors spears and shields full com. 11 skink skirmishers SPECIAL- 849pts 19 temple guard totem of prophecy full com. 5 Cold one cav. full com. stegadon giant bow RARE- 150pts 2x salamanders no extra handlers TOTAL PTS: 2990 ok that´s it. To have a EoTG would be nice, however I cant use one because that would be too much pts on heroes... most people tell me to get rid of Chakax. That is 1 way to fit in a EoTG, but before i started this list, the thing that i had in mind was that I want Chakax!!!
Chakax is run. re-rolling any failed LoS is nice plus the unbreakable thing. at this point value id be careful against skaven (dreaded 13th once or twice against the TG would be just a shame). I like my TG to be a horde at that level, but i have an all-my-eggs-in-one-basket issue when it comes to using TG and Chakax. That aside, your going to want to work in chameleons to deal with warmachines. theyre just too effective to leave at home. havent used the carni in 8th edition yet but without the chameleons, 1 or 2 cannon shots will be the end of him. I'd recommend dropping the priest and scar vet to free up some points for chameleons, give the slann the plaque, replace mystery with rumination (extra power dice FTW). higher state is nice but perhaps a bit unneccesary with him being in the TG. and CoC have to go, 5 of them with a full command is a big point sink. theyre the same points 2 units of chameleons, has the same role as them and wont be nearly as effective. use the extra points on TG. my recommendations in list form: LORDS- 671 Slann BSB Rumination Plaque of Tepok Oldblood LA, shield Carni HEROES- 335 Chakax CORE- 750 29 Saurus HWS command 27 Saurus spears command 11 Skink Skirms SPECIAL- 944 24 Temple Guard Totem of Prophecy command Stegadon 10 Chameleons 10 Chameleons RARE- 300 2 x Sallie 2 x Sallie 3000 on the dot. Life is always a good choice but with only 1 caster dont be afraid to go with heavens. being able to use 2 dice (+1 extra with rumination) to get off a regular comet can be quite effective. thatd be an average of 14 for your total roll (10 + 4 for level). wind blast can keep that nasty horde away while your sallies do their job. and thunderbolt is great for picking on those pesky lone monsters/characters
ok thanks for the tips! I think i´ll go with a scar-vet anyway. since the slann have the large target rule, he´e availible for shooting at, witch will turn him into a living dartboard lol. so here´s a new lits, but i´m not sure i´ll be able to run as many camelion skink as you used in your list... LORDS- 726pts Slann BSB Divine plaque of protection The focused rumination focus of mystery Saurus Oldblood LA, shield carnosaur HEROES- 440pts Chakax, eternity warden Saurus Scar-veteran LA, enchanted shield. CORE- 773pts 29 Saurus warriors HW, shields full com. 27 Saurus Spears, shields full com. 10 skirmish skinks SPECIAL- 620pts 19 temple guard Totem of prophecy full com. Stegadon Giant bow 10 chameleon skinks stalker RARE- 425 pts 2x sallamander no extra handers ok so that will end up at 2996 pts. to me, a EoTG would still feel nice, but i´m pretty happy with the lords and heroes choosen in this list
The slann does not have the large target rule (unless it is Mazdamundi). The slann is counted as infantry (that floats up to cast).
agreed. the list looks good. one tweek id recommend with the chameleons, the stalker isnt really necessary. by setting up at 12" due to scout, you'll be able to march and shoot. even if youre at long range, you still poison on 6's (-3 total for moving, long range and double tap). chances are youll forget about his 1 better BS. id say give your temple guard champ the ironcurse item, gives the unit a 6+ ward against warmachines. could be pretty handy if you run up against some stone throwers. since you only have 10 chameleons, you could split them too so they can hit 2 different warmachines (i always take big groups as my other list shows but having 2 units to choose where they fire can be helpful)
