Hello, still no pictures of my army as I promised at the last army list post that I made but instead a new topic. The tournament I am planning to enter will be with 3000 point armies but they won't apply the great army rules described in the BRB. Also there are some comp restrictions but the things that mostly affect Lizardmen are max 3 large targets, max 1 unit of salamanders and Slann can only take two out of the following: loremaster, +1pd, cogitation, cupped hands and bsb. So without further blabbering here's the list: Slann Mage-Priest -Light Magic -Becalming Cogitation, Soul of Stone -Divine Plaque of Protection, Dragonbane Gem, Cube of Darkness -Battle Standard Bearer -Banner of Swiftness Saurus Scar-Veteran -Luckstone, Dragonhelm, Potion of Speed -Light Armour, Halberd -Cold One Skink Priest -Dispel Scroll 24 Skinks + 3 Kroxigors -Full Command 24 Skinks + 3 Kroxigors -Full Command 30 Saurus Warriors -Full Command 10 Skink Skirmishers 10 Skink Skirmishers 6 Saurus Cold One Cavalry -Musician, Standard Bearer -Banner of Eternal Flame 5 Chameleon Skinks 5 Chameleon Skinks 4 Terradons Stegadon 2 Salamander Hunting Packs Razordon Hunting Pack Ancient Stegadon 3023 The main idea was to run solo slann which will support the core r'n'f units with light magic and then tag team the stegadons and cavalry because in my opinion those three won't need that much magic support. Also I am a bit over the point limit and can't really decided where to reduce the necessary points. I was thinking of maybe dropping the skink priest but I like the idea of strong magic defence. I usually just play 2,4k games so now that there is a bigger point limit I kind of want to test out if and how the razordon works. I think I tested them once or twice in the beginning of 7th and left them home ever since. I'm curious if I can get something out of them. Maybe take down some light support units or something. Comments will be appreciated and especially ideas how to reduce the total points down to 3000. BR Agrem
The best way to run a solo slann is to give him the higher state of consciousness to make him invulnerable to non-magical attacks. Also, it seems more efficient to drop the skink priest and just give the magic defence item to the slann. one last point of advice i can give is that it seems that you have too many skink skirmishers and chameleons, it may be best to drop at least the chameleons and add more saurus. Just a thought

Ofcourse the higher state would bring more protection to slann if there should be some nasty flyers around but otherwise I think it might be a bit too much when he already has the 2+ WS against ranged. Yes I agree that dropping the priest would reduce enough points as I earlier said. I just can't give the scroll to Slann because he already has cube. Dropping only the scroll would also bring me under 3000 points but then the skink will become quite useless and I would be better spending the points elsewhere. For me chameleons and skirmishers have different roles in lizardmen army. While chameleons work as warmachine hunters along with terradons I think skirmishers are a bit throwaway units and movement harassers. If dropping chameleons I think I would reduce my warmachine hunting abilities too much and if dropping skirmishers, even one unit, I feel that I won't be able to do everything that I want in movement phase. Also with the points from those four units would give me around 20 saurus with hw+sh and full command which is quite small unit all in all. I have actually been toying around dropping one cold one rider and shuffle around with the veterans equipment to give him burning blade and switching the banner to Huanchi totem. I just don't know if the unit will pack enough punch and has the necessary survailability anymore. BR Agrem
