Hey guys, I've been contemplating a list to bring to a tourney within the next month and have been testing between balance, monster heavy, melee heavy, and magic heavy army configurations. Overall I've been more impressed with the monster heavy list but want some more ideas on giving it a more balanced base overall to make sure it's useable against other armies. My list goes like this. HEROES Oldblood on Carny Sword of Battle, Maiming Shield, Glyph Neck Oldblood on Carny Blade of Realities, Enchanted Shield Scar-Vet Hide of the Cold Ones, Great weapon Skink Priest Ancient Steg, EotG, Dispel Scroll Skink Priest Ancient Steg, EotG, Dispel Scroll CORE Saurus Warriors x19 w/ Spears - Musician, Standard Bearer Saurus Warriors x20 w/Spears - Musician, Standard Bearer Saurus Warriors x20 w/Spears - Musician, Standard Bearer Skink Skirmishers x10 Skink Skirmishers x10 (225 POINTS UNUSUED) From this list I have roughly 225 points to play with, i can drop a warrior and add a Steg or more than likely run a unit of 3 Salamanders or Razordons. General tactic for the army is the grind. They march forward with no visible flanks that are weak and hopefully crush anything in front or if the big dino's get charged can do flank charges with Saurus. Any pointers would be helpful. Thanks!
Trust me when i say, i am a very big monster/hand2hand heavy kind of guy, but i really think you are stretching your points by getting two lords on carnos... I'd say one lord on carno and then another lord thats h2h if you want but i'd take a slann just to be on the safe side.. After all though, lists are a personal choice I think some terradons would help a little btw
i would drop the hide of the cold ones on your hero and just put him on a cold one as you will end up with a better save and have more movment you won't have the str. 7 or the extra T but you will have room for a ward save or a bane head, piranha blade combo and i would put that scar vet in a unit of temple guard since you have the points and a couple of salamanders is always a good thing
