Any tactics against bretons? I have played against them for ages, but, mostly with HE. I have an idea. Block of 19 TG, Slann, Gor-Rok, SO w. sword of hornet, SOTMP, glyph necklace, light armour. Planning on using the shield to stop getting hurt by magic, my slann causes terror, Gor-Rok stops his knights getting +2 Strength when they charge, and my S5 WS6 A5 Oldblood strikes first, which should do some considerable damage. Unit in 5 ranks of 5. What do you think?

way too many points in one unit wich can probably be taken out by 2 units of knights, or he'll run circles arround it and kill the rest of your army.

7 WS 3 S5 atacks vs saurus is not so bad, generally they can take a charge and make it out alive to counterattack with spears. a lance charging a unit of saurus warriros from teh front has to engage 5 models. using speras you still get he odd 6+ save and then you hit back with everything that didn't die. satistically you should lose 2.31 saurus if you fail all your saves, yu strike back with 17 and kill 3.70 back. you win combat. satistically.

salamanders are also nice and if you want an oldblood go for the blade of revered tzunki for S6 attacks that ignore armor

I've run this list against Brets. Got a massacre, having more than 2000 vp more than my opponent. Here it goes:

    3500 Lizardmen list

Slann, BSB, The Focused Rumination, Dispel Scroll, Plaque of Tepok, Totem of Prophecy

Slann, The Focused Rumination, Focus of Mystery, Cube of Darkness, 2 Dispel Scrolls

Skink Priest, lvl 2, Eotg, War Drums,

Skink Priest, lvl 2, Eotg, Curse-Charm of Tepok
    Scar-vet, LA, Shield, CO

    10 Skink Skirmishers

    10 Skink Skirmishers

    10 Skink Skirmishers

    10 Skinks

    10 Skinks

    18 Saurus Warroirs, Standard, Spear

    16 Tempel Guards, Standard

    16 Tempel Guards, Standard

    3 Terradons

    5 CoR,

    2 Salamander w/ extra handler

    2 Salamander w/ extra handler

    Salamander
    3500

    PD: 16
    DD: 10 + 3 scrolls + cube

Its only 3500 so you would have to come up with some more for you own list.. I recomment SWORD OF THE HORNET! ASF is golden against brets, i'd put it on a scar-vet an stick him in a unit..

I don't really like oldbloods, since IMO Slanns are so much better. In 4000 you could have 3 of those!

The way a ran this army:

Keep the two Slanns under protection from the wardbubble from the EOTGs. Salamanders go where they can make a BBQ out of any knights. The key is just to cause panic, so hitting two units, killing one from each is enough. Brets have a max LD of 9, and units have 8, which will eventually fail. Hence, salamanders cause fear, Scar-vet cause fear (put him with some saurus IMO), a TG unit cause fear, COR have fear, take one slann with death and you have a spell to cause fear/terror. This could even turn skinks into fearcausing units! For me Death of Metal lores work good against Brets. Even the magic missiles can target fastcav or archers, so basicly even spell in those two lores have great uses against brets.
Just advance with your fearcausing units, use the terrain to "divide" his army or annoy him in some way, marchblock so you can deal with him in waves, then you will win bigtime!

This won the game for me! Again, if you play with named characters, watch out for Fey Enchantress. She makes you take an I test or die/lose wound, which is incredible good against saurus, so better do everything you can to keep her away from the action. On top of that, she has a good MR and a charge of 20" a the army does not have to pray to get the wardsave.

Generally, don't let him charge you blocks head-on. Either, redirect so you can charge him next turn, bait him in the wrong direction, have him charge something light (like 10 skinks) and have him overrun into a block and have a countercharge ready in your turn.

If everything goes wrong, your TG will be stubborn on a coldblooded ld 8 with BSB, that is a hard nut to crack!

Are you gonna play this on a 4x6 table, or larger? :)
