So my FLGS is putting on a campaign and we're supposed to paint/base 500 pts of our army. These are the lists I'm thinking about... 20 x Saurus Warriors - Musician - Banner - HW/S 1 x Salamander Hunting Pack 10 x Skink Skirmishers - Blowpipes 1 x Scar-Veteran - Cold One - Halberd - Light Armor OR... 20 x Saurus Warriors - Musician - Banner - HW/S 1 x Scar-Veteran - Cold One - Halberd - Light Armor 12 x Skinks 12 x Skinks I like both lists.... but give me or C+C.... Please?
Just curious what opponents you will plan to fight? I prefer the first list, I'll show you mine for the same sort of thin as you will be playing. ScarVet Burning Blade, Enchanted Shield, Light Armor 15 x Saurus Warrior - With Full Cmd and Spears (Scar Vet here) 3 x Kroxigor Built more of a hard hitting army. Yours is a tad more balanced though so depending on what your up against it may be better (I'll be fighting Skaven, Beastmen and Chaos, possibly goblins as well.)
I know I will be fighting an OnG army with a 20 block of orcs, some spider riders, night goblins, spear chukka.... (my friend was so kind to tell me his 500 pt list. Ha!) The players there play just about every army... Dark Elves Chaos (2 players) Ogres Wood Elves Empire Daemons High Elves
Is the Cold One a good idea? I mean I know the Stupidity test shouldn't be a HUGE problem with Cold Blooded... But having a lone character out there smashing stuff?
I'd have to agree, The cold one might just isolate your scar vet, getting him ganked or ran down. I think you could spend those points on more skinks / an extra handler for your sallie. Those guys get hungry
1 x Scar-Veteran - General - Halberd - Light Armor 20 x Saurus Warriors - Musician - Banner - HW/S 1 x Salamander Hunting Pack - extra handler 12 x Skink Skirmishers - Blowpipes Now the Scar-Vet will go into the unit of 20... Makes the unit a tad more killy... not like they would have had a hard time killing though. ; )
That looks a lot more nails. Sallie wont be useless after 1 bad misfire now, thats always a bonus. Looks good man, should kick some ass with that!
I hope so. I play with a mix of elite veterans and some pro-gaming noobs... I'm somewhere in between... Maybe I should start a painting log as well......... Hmmm
Ive been meaning to start a paint log for long enough now XD Im a good enough player, but a damn horrible painter as it stands.... Practice and all that nonsense lol
Your Scar Vet now seems more vulnerable to me, remeber even on the cold-one he can join the saurus warriors they have the same footprint, You just took him 2+ armor save to a 4+ armor save. You may wanna see if you can fit on some sort of magic protection on him.
He will be slowed down by the unit though... that's a downside. I was going to have him smash into things simultaneously. What about Scar-Vet - Cold One - Light Armor - Gold Sigil Sword That's 125 pts for the requirement and he has a 2+ armor save and has 4 str 5 attacks at WS 5 and I10...
Is the Scar Vet better than the Skink Priest for this situation? Honest question, I am very new... The way I see it, having a l2 mage to dispell is huge, plus you get some serious ranged attacks...
Well, I think if you came up against another wizard, having a skink priest would be good. But in terms of doing damage and killing power, I'd go with the scar vet
