Greeting, everyone. My local club in Florida just started a Warhammer Fantasy Escalation campaign and I signed up! The campaign has some interesting rules and restrictions, so making a list has been a challenge. Some of the limits we are starting with: 500 points to start Up to 1 Hero 1-3 Core No points spent on magic items Every month we are adding 250 points and we gain Power Points for the results of our battles. Those Power Points can be used to purchase additions to our armies, such as magic item points, special army bonuses, and also additional unit slots for Lords, Heroes, Special, and Rare (and unlimited Core). A little gaming background from me and then I'll post my list and ask for some tips! I've been playing 40k for 20 years now, along with various other games from different companies. I played Fantasy when 8th edition came out, Beastmen, and our club played it for about a year before we drifted to other games (as we tend to do!). I have a pretty extensive list of 40k articles that I've written over the last 2 years, and I get about 1,500-2,000 reads a day there. I might start writing Fantasy articles if I get back into the game. I love wargaming: the modeling, painting, the modeling, and now the writing about it! http://murphy80.hubpages.com - For anyone interested. My 500 point list! HEROES 1 Scar-Vet - Cold One - lt. armor - shield CORE 20 Saurus Warriors - spears - full command 2 x 10 Skink Skirmishers - Javelin and Shields TOTAL: 500 points Starting out, I bought the Lizardmen Battalion, as it's a quick way to get a bunch of models and the price was right. I also picked up an extra box of skinks so I could make the extra unit. Going forward, I think I'll add more skirmishers, add magic items to my scar-vet (great weapon, dragonhelm, and dawnstone seem popular), and then add a unit of cold-one-cav since I'll have the models and need to add points without spending too much money yet. Any advice? Words of encouragement? I get the idea behind running skirmishers, but I think it will take some practice to get the hang of it. Thanks for reading and for future comments. -Murphy
