could someone help as i need to create a 500 pt lizardman army to play against my friends any1 have any ideas??
@Stonehambey: Its pretty much just a restructuring of the requirements (i.e. 1 hero, limited war machines, etc.), but plays like any other 500 game (just restricts an all artillery army, for example). @lizardlover: Well, the first question that I would ask is what do you have? Without this, its really hard to give you suggestions. That said, assuming that you have a good basic selection of troops, I would say that you cant go wrong with a JSoD, 2+ units of skinks, a 10-15 man unit of Saurus (you'll prob only need a muc), and either some terradons or salamanders. This way, you can play effectively against shooty lists, and have enough manuverability to deal with lots of fast cav. Against melee heavy armies, bait the enemy with the Saurus and pick apart enemy units with your supporting troops. Dont forget to fiddle around with magic defense (take a BS of tepok on your JSoD), and if you are new to the game you might want to switch out for a skink priest sometimes to practise magic.
Along the lines of what SohCahToa said and with the models you have you can field a JSoD w/Tepok, a unit of 10 saurus w/ a standard and musician, a unit of 10 skinks, a unit of 11 skinks, and 3 Dons. And that puts you at 500 pts.
I've been very successful with a JSoD, 3 Skink units of 10,11 or 12 (depending on build) and a unit of 3 Salamanders. They're all skirmishers, very fast and can ping at opponents. The JSoD can charge out of a skink unit to bind the opponent's most powerful unit while all the others manouevre around. Obviously it doesn't work against everyone and is better when there's a lot of terrain that slows down your opponent.
thanks all ideas are appreciated and will be tried out...erm sorry to ask but could someone remind me what a JSod is??
Scar-vet with the Jag. Charm. Generally I field him as cheap as possible so light armor, great weapon, jag charm and maybe a shield.
