Hey Guys,

Looking for some tactics and lists. I have almost all models in any number of variations save a few. I am starting an escalation league using GHB2017 match play rules. We are looking to start at 750 then increase to 900/1100/1250. I really don't have enough experience with my army yet and was looking for a top notch recommendation for an army that could escalate well at those point values. Please leave me some feedback if you have any that work well.

Er, shouldn’t this be in AoS?

Yeah I think @Logan8054 mixed up the categories. Please @Crowsfoot or another mod move it to AoS. :)

As for the question: IMO Skink armies in general scale better than Saurus (Saurus suck in small units).
The problem that I see with the escalation is that the point values are so close to each other, so you will need to paint and use models that you then have to remove from your army again if you want to add something big. :(

Agree with Aginor. I'm currently in a very similar escalation league points wise, and I'm having to resuffle everything. But, Staples like skinks and a starpriest has served me well at every level.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for fixing the category, as to the question. I need a bump and some help on this. I originally was thinking of doing a slow build with Saurus Guard, but the more i look at old and new lists in this army size seems like that would be tough. Looking for any suggestion that would scale well as the army grows and suggestions regards to the artefacts and command abilities.

4 rounds:
- 750 points
- 900 points
- 1100 points
- 1250 points

Currently rethinking of using some variation of Sunblood/Oldblood, Skinks, and Saurus Warriors.

At 750 points the more wounds you can get on the table would that help with objectives?, Skinks are fast and cheap so maybe build around them and as you escalate add in Basilidon, Stegadon etc

Any suggestions on build list

You could go Shadowstrike

Allegiance: Seraphon

Leaders
Skink Starpriest (80)

Battleline
40 x Skinks (200)
- Boltspitters & Star Bucklers
10 x Skinks (60)
- Boltspitters & Star Bucklers
10 x Skinks (60)
- Boltspitters & Star Bucklers

Units
3 x Ripperdactyl Riders (140)
1 x Razordons (40)

Battalions
Shadowstrike Starhost (170)

Total: 750 / 750
Allies: 0 / 200
Wounds: 76

You would have one unit of 10 skinks and the razordon not in the batallion or you could put the 2 units of 10 together but having 3 units lets you control the board more.

So after reading all the new rules we have so far I am thinking of a crazy build. 1 slann, 4 salamander, 3 razordon, 3 handler and an astrolith bearer.
The point of this is to make a summoning turtle. Thoughts

Lets wait for rules to be published)

I agree, it is almost impossible to judge how the new rules will work until we see them as a whole.
