    Hello All

I have exactly one battle under my belt and it was at 500 points against a skaven army it was a pretty standard Army with 2 units of 10 saurus 1 unit of 10 skink skirmishers, A level 2 Skink priest and a Sallie with extra handler, we agreed to play a game at 750 points this coming weekend. I agreed feeling full of my self and much to my dismay it was let slip that he bought a Ogre battalion box, now here is my issue I was going too add: a Scar vet, 1 more unit of 10 saurus and another unit of 10 skink skirmishers, for a point total of 735, is this beefy enough to take care of the Ogre menace or should a unit of Cold one cavalry or do I need a completely new stratagy? Any help will be great :( i just wanted to kill rats

Against Ogres skinks are your saving glory! Poison shots destroys Ogres. Saurus should stand up to them fairly well too. Also, a mixed unit of cohorts and kroxigors cannot be stomped. Cold one Cavalry and skrox are the way to go. Both cause fear and will cancel out his fear causing units (all of them in the ogre army barring gnoblars).

I play ogres, and I know what I hate to see from an opponent. Bring skinks, the poisened attacks are glorious since ogres will generally only have light armor or less. If he is using the battalion then he is probably going to use the ironguts, they will destroy anything too big, so if you bring EotG then watch out because they can dish out str 6 attacks. Leadbelchers are in the box too, they sound scary but they really aren't since their misfires make them kill themselves.

Another thing to remember is that ogres are fast, they will be able to out maneuver your saurus and they have a higher initiative than them. If it was me and I knew I was going against ogres I would try to keep my saurus in the backfield and have skink skirmishers run around shooting them to death. Sallies are great as well, but keep everything moving (marching).

Magic is not really that big of a deal against ogres. Gut magic only has one damage spell, the rest are buffs, and one makes you take a panic test :p . You could probably get away with not taking any wizards and just simply dispelling anything he casts later since Gut Magic spells are remains in play.
