Hey, I've only been playing Lizardmen for a while, but I'm really starting to love them in the new 8th edition. I came up with a list just the other day, and have play tested it against 2 armies, with very good results. Please let me know what you think of it. Skink Priest lvl 2 Extra Spell 5+ Ward save 17 Skinks, 2 Krox ( I know this is a weird number, but I had 7 points left over when I designed the list.) Banner, musician 18 Saurus w/ Spears Banner, musician 2 units of 1 Salamander with an extra handler each. The total of it comes to 748 points. The thoughts behind the list were as such; Up until now I had only ever really been playing smaller games with larger blocks of Saurus warriors. And found myself really lacking in the shooting and magic phases, so I decided to go a bit of a different route. No Saurus hero ( I know I'm gonna hear about this) and with the addition of Salamanders. The results have been more then promising. I darn near tabled my Warriors of Chaos opponent, and devastated my Empire opponent. My only real fear is that I have relatively low Leadership. Now for our group we're jumping up to 1k points and I'm a bit unsure on what to throw in, my first thought was a Stegadon, for some real scary beefyness, or maybe a Saurus hero. I'd love to hear what you think I could improve, or what you think would really make this list even more brutal. -Bauhus
I wish, I really do like EoTG, but they're just so expensive with the new percentage rules. I'm kinda heavily favoring putting in a regular Stegadon, but I'm still worried about my opponents in that new points bracket. My WoC friend is going to throw in a HellCannon, my Empire opponent is loading his 250 points ALL worth of war machines, and my VC friend is tossing in more Vampires, I'm just worried that I'll really miss out some real potential if I don't put the Steg in. Or maybe a large unit of Teridon riders with a skink chief. Just a heads up, we're playing a 8 person Campaign, with: Empire Lizardmen ( yay ) Wood Elves WoC Beastmen Daemons Vampire Counts Dark Elves So yeah, if you have any suggestions as to how my list might be weak against one or more of these, leme know -Bauhus
I would add a scar vet (for leadership and butt-kicking), a decent sized (6-8) unit of chameleon skinks (for war machine hunting and all around annoyance) , and bump up the Skrox unit to 22 + 2 (let's you run it as a 6x5 fast flanker). Any extra points can beef out the Saurus a bit.
