Game 1 I had the same list as 500 with some kroxigor and a few extra Saurus. I wanted to make my army a bit softer and more playable but game 1 I had an undefeated chaos army. I considered going full degenerate and taking another priest with a lore familiar but I decided to go halfway, which also allowed me to keep my painted units We had a normal battle but mucked up the scenario which resulted in a weird deployment and 24" apart I thought I had a chance if I had first turn or fireball and I'd back myself with both. I got neither The game started promising, my skinks wounded a dragon ogre and a fireball finished it off. However I made a single error moving the damn skinks on the right and it proved costly. I left one (only one!) of their bases at an angle that pointed at the Saurus. This let the until of Daemons overrun the skinks into the Saurus flank. I had intended to delay them a turn or two. It would have allowed me to march right up to the chariot to deprive them of impact attacks Whilst we were a march for them, it put us in a poor position When the chariot did arrive the champion bravely went down the deprive it of some combat res. In fact, we won by two, and the chariot fled! The champion had his hero/general on it and a successful chase would have brought me back in the game but it wasn't to be. Meanwhile the kroxigor showed their mettle and killed the remaining dragon ogre. The horsemen took the skinks out easily. Eventually it all culminated in a bash in the middle From here everything charged, it was just too much for us. That damn fireball never went off again and the Chaos list was just too good. Battles 2 and 3 to come...
