    Hey Guys,

Just started playing Warhammer and decided I would give the Lizardmen a go. Been reading this forum a while and playing a few games. Thought I would post my lists and see if there was any advice you guys might have.

In the league with me are New Wood Elves, Dwarves, VC and Skaven. Potential Brets late comer.

The games are fun and fairly casual, so I'm looking for a list that will perform reasonably without needing to be super competitive. Hence the Egg over a dispel scroll. Any thoughts or advice would be great!

    750pt List:

    Heroes:
Saurus Scar Vet - GW, Gamblers Armor, Egg of Quango

    Core:
    17 Saurus Warriors - HW&S Full Command

10 Skink Skirmishers - Javs and Shield

    Special:
    5 Chameleon Skinks

5 Cold One Cav - Full Command

    Rare:
    Salamander - Extra Snack

    1000 pt:

    Heroes:
Saurus Scar Vet - GW, Gamblers Armor, Egg of Quango

    Skink Priest - lvl 2

    Core:
    17 Saurus Warriors - HW&S Standard Bearer

11 Skink Skirmishers - Javs and Shield

    Special:
    Bastilidon - Solar Engine

    5 Cold One Cav

    3 Terradon Riders

    Rare:
    Salamander - Extra Snack

We can make that Vet better and keep the Egg, and IIRC it won't be over budget.

Swap Gamblers armor for Seed of Rebirth, Dragonhelm, Light Armor. Weaker against killing blow, better against fire. You might see fire on a WoC unit, for example.

You might also consider swapping the core skirmishers for 5 more chameleons. Same damage output, still legal (saurus meets your core), better strategic value.

Eurgh, made the changes to the Scar Vet and played a 1000 point game with my housemate last night. His wardancers killed him before he got a chance to do anything using their Killing Blow dance. Now I'm in two minds as to whether to stick with the the Helm / Seed combo or go back to Gamblers Armour. Stupid Killing blow, ASF combo.

Despite the General biting it without getting close to earning his points back the game was a close Draw, with just my Terradons and a single unit of Gladeguard left alive. So the list is working and it felt pretty nice. I ended up taking:

    Heroes:
Scar Vet - LA, Dragon Helm, Seed of Rebirth, Egg of Quango

    Core:
    17 x Saurus Warriors - FC

    11 x Skink Skirmishers

    Special:
    Bastilidon - Solar Engine

    5 x Cold One Cavalry

    3 x Terradon - Fireleach Bolas

    Rare:
    1 x Salamander - Extra Snack

Might start a battle report thread and give some more details.

IMO, a 6+ ward won't realistically save him.

Ghenna's golden hounds and the fire banner? But it is meta dependant.

Edit - Didn't the egg murder the way watchers? I believe the egg goes off before even impact hits if you read the text carefully.

    I forgot the egg... :S

Although I rolled it after the game to see if it would have made an impact but rolled a 1 so only ended up with d3 which resulted in 1 wound. Potentially could have saved him though if I remembered the fact I took a fun item!

I agree a 6 up isn't great. Guess I just have to be more careful of dangerous units like that. 5 Wardancers didn't seem like that much of a threat... I will know better next time.
