What would you guys like to see in our new army edition? I would like to see; Kroxigors cheaper or better Saurus WS 4 [Makes more sense, as they are bred for battle after all] Arcanodon model/official Official Sacred Host rules in Army Book New Stegadon model Plastic Terradons Option to give SCoR Light armor Adjust Chiefs to be more useful More Magic Items Kroxigor Models bigger/better build Those are just my thoughts, but I'm sure you guys would know more valuable things than that.
I actually pretty much like our book as it is. I even like the kroxigor models a lot ^^ the only thing i would wish for is some more plastic models (sallies, kroxies, steg), a few more magic items wouldn't hurt though. an own lore for the slann would be pretty cool but is not necessary. I just hope they don't nerf salamanders.... seems to be a trend to let the "artillerie dice hits" types of units become "artillerie dice times rolls to hit" edit: oh and of course more independent characters would be cool. i'm thinking of kroxigor, chameleon skink, or maybe beastmaster kind of heroes. by beastmaster i mean special kinds of terradon or steg riders or salamander herders which give the unit/their beasts special abilities. that would be cool.
Yeah, I have to say that the list as it is is very balanced. The only problem is that as the power creep is occuring the idea of a 'balanced list' becomes less and less attractive. That said, the biggest thing that I think should be done is to make skink chiefs worth their points. While an increased magic item allotment could do well in such a situation, another solution could be to increase their BS (which would make the staff of the lost sun worth it for once). Another thing that could improve the list as a whole, and certainly improve the skink chief especially, would be to increase the amount of magic items available. This certainly seems to be the case in the release of the HE and DE army books, so I would not be suprised if this happened.
I would really like the option of a Kroxigor hero, that would be a lot of fun. I would like to see the saurus warriors a little more effective all round so they could be on the level of skinks where you want them in almost every army you build. I think it'd be nice if they could wear light armor and carry gw. I think temple guard could use sacred spanings as could CoR evern if the Cold One only got one for they already have Itzl. I would love new models for Krox and stegadon. Wouldn't mind drring the skinks with 1 more toughness all around so they are at least as tough as a tiny goblin. The sacred spawning list acctually in the book would be sweet. More magic items would be nice especially since the world is always coming over to raid their magic/gold. Also I would love to see more banners. The lizardmen don't need to many changes so hpefully the new addition won't be far from this one.
To keep it short and simple, above all elese I wish 3 things: Our own lore of magic. Let's face it, how come the race that vaunts the most potent spellcasters has to use High Elven/Human magic?!?!?! Engine of the Gods!!!!!!! Make my beautiful saurus useable Cheers!
one thing i want is the blessed spawning's to be more like the vampire traits. I like the versatility in choosing magic items and spawnings but i want more options ( yes it sounds greedy, but it is a wish.) Also I think skinks should be dropped to 5 pts(or adding +1 toughness would satsify too) and saurus too 10, personally 270 pts is a little too much for 20 saurus with FC. And WE NEED A T-REX!!!
I found this thread on The Pyramid Vault: http://www.pyramidvault.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2323 in it you will find official new lizardmen rules and units etc. Hope you like it! EDIT: also found a pic of the new krox model http://warseer.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=40887&d=1213454936
That's really cool though I would have liked to read more on saurus warriors, for they are in the most need of upgrading.
I love the idea of a Stegadon/Arcanodon PLASTIC box set. *Glares at the partially assembled howdah and half painted stegadon* Temple Guard as Special are cool too, as at 2000 pt level, Temple Guard are generally too expensive when fielding a Slann too.
cheaper cham skinks fast cav cheaper cav Skinks to stay as is if salamanders go to BS than raise it to a 4 or 5, prolly 4.
Those additions sound wonderful, given all of the new options. I like the idea of better Temple Guard, though it'd be nice if maybe slightly cheaper. I personally hope for a new big dinosaur, seeing as my High Elf buddy gets 3 dragons, (The Star Dragon I've yet to kill) I mean...c'mon. We have an entire continent, we need more options!
And with the 7th history revamp we apparently have most everything south of the equator. To add to my above list: More and better magic items that allow for more interesting combos. Cheaper saurus (10 pts instead of 12) slightly cheaper spawnings (i.e. a price drop on Quetzl and sotek) take out swarms, sine their useless, and add in another troop choice. Add in a lvl 3 skink high priest as a lord choice.
One of the local game store managers here in San Antonio told me that our GW rep personally told him that they are trying to make as many models plastic in the upcoming changes as possible, due to the rising costs of pewter. He says the only reason they don't do it already is that "some models don't come out looking right" unless they are done in metal. Not sure if I buy that, as the styles pretty much look the same to me.
How about: Saurus that have weapon skill 4 or GW Archers of some stripe, or at the least shortbow skinks in the standard list A piece of artillery, maybe just a giant bow? A new Dinosaur, T-Rex, Ankylosaur, Raptors that act like skaven giant rats Level 3 Skink priest Skink heros on Terradons Magic Items with Bound spells that are NOT one use only Fast Cavalry, or maybe a chariot Kroxigor hero Chameleon Skink Assasin hero These are just the suggestions that leap to mind first. But seriously, a point reduction on saurus, or an upgrade on them. And magic items with bound spells that aren't one use only. Where's our ring of teclis? I feel like a racial spell list is asking too much, but man wouldn't that be nice?
I really want something thnat makes my slann immune to pit of shades. I can't count hpw many times my slann has been killed by a HE Archmage on a dragon flying so its in range and casting it using book of hoeth so i can't dispel. It would make it so much easier to beat him with a slann tht isn't dead.
Cheaper chameleons, Slann Lore being mainly offense spells, Cold Ones that look like the Dark Elves'.
Perhaps a dragon-sized Terradon, with a Saurus Lord riding it? Or a Cold One-powered chariot? Also, I would like to see more ranged weapons, like bows, or slings.
Lots of interesting stuff for the new edition it seems I just want to put my vote in for a bigger armory of magic weaponds and characters. A few additions to the main line of troops could be good as wel, especialy in the special and rare groups, so long it stays balanced and fits a relativily good army list as it is today. My oppinions is based on what I think would give greater variation for the player in setting up an army, bred for an spesific task and purpose and when it comes to tacticals choises. I realy like the lizzards as they come today, but I feel I don't have as much choises as my friends who's playing dark elves and chaos warriors... I realy think all the warhammer classes should have enough characters and troops to make the game interesting and not predicteble. Not complainig here, just swirling my ideas Lastly, I realy woud like to see Lord Mazdamundi back in the game! He is an gargantuan characher in means of lizardmen history, beside the facts that he's the worlds most potent spellcaster and would make an awsome display on the tabletop riding his stegi to war! Nakai, the wanderer would also be great to be put in the official army book as an character.
I have come across a major issue w/ Lizardmen. Lizardmen have a great theme sneeky, cold blooded and chosen by the Old Ones to be blessed w/ the most impressive mastery of the winds of magic! I hope to see in the new edition a few more rules to improve on these ideals, like a Lore for Slann. A lore based around (maybe) altering the battle field, like in ther history they have done, altered teh world to the greater plan of the Old Ones. This would also help compensate for the HUGE hole in teh lizardmen army, terrain. There are almost no rules for terrain in Warhammer but w/ a lizardman army w/ and points invested in scouting can be thorted. It would be great to see a rule for placing a free terrain piece or some spells for "growing" one before army placment. I'd love to make a VERY sneeky Lizardmen army w/ a Slann Mage Priest and stabe my opponent in the back and blast him in teh face! but untill there are a few fixxes this can not be.
