Hi Well I guess it's time for my 1:st real post Me and some friends + my brother are going to play a campaign that will start on 800 and then slowly grow up to 1500 or maybe 2000 points. I have like 2-3K points Lizardmen in just core units (Cold Ones as well) since i have been buying my friends and there friends old LM over the years only to place them in a box to be neglected This campaign is the perfect opportunity for me to fix some them so here is what i have in mind for a army list. The core Basic i will start with. 15-20 Surus with spears since the models in least need of fixing has spears and i like the extra attacks. 2-3 Skink skirmisher units of 13 or 17 guys with blowpipes and no Braves A Oldblood, his items are going to vary from round to round but it's likely that i go for the offensive most of the time since i feel that 4/3+ saves are sufficient enough in 800 point games. A Skink Priest Lv 2, my favorite items on a Priest is the feather cloak since i solo them and then diadem of power or the plaque of tepok. I got to say however that the ruby ring of ruin seems nice. Since it's a campaign i can have different magic items (and units if i want) from round to round and we are going to be 10 players maximum. 2 of them are going to play Ogres so for that i'm thinking tank Oldblood with poison attacks and i play Ogres myself so i know that to be a world of PAIN I have a old tin salamander that i know i will use but i'm not sure if i want to put it in the 800 list tho. Well that's it i think and yea i'm hoping for some fun games and don't relay care if i win or lose, against my little brother tho i simply MUST win So tell me what ya all think of this
The salamander is a must at this level. It will earn it's points back every game. Even just the psychological effect that it has on players will work. The sally is so good that it is almost broken (probably will be nerfed when they get around to our book too ). Everything else seems pretty standard. I like taking javelins and shields on my skirmishers because of my play style (I always get too close). Plus, unless you get within close range, if your skirmishers march, they can only single tap (or they will lose the poison ability). Let us know how it goes. Oh, and welcome aboard!
Ok the salamander it is then but that old tin model looks as if it has a set of nuts below it's head I do prefer the rezordon model and i like the razordon more but even i can't ignore that the salamander is better. As for the Skinks i too like the javelins better but i wont spend 1 point more for it not after they nefed the skirmishers in the BRB, that's how i feel anyway since i have not played a LM game in this edition yet. I don't like that i'm forced to have my skirmishers in a formation these days. I rarely double shoot anyway and if they get stuck in combat for some odd reason there dead anyway so no shield on them. My Skinks has lost fights against newly raised zombies, goblins, gnoblars and skaven slaves so i don't trust them to hold for a sec these days.
