Quick question guys, what armies have received their 8th edition books? I'm still collecting Lizardmen ATM but want to collect another army but may as well have a 8th edition one. Thanks in advance

Tomb Kings, Ogre Kingdoms, Orc & Goblins, Empire, and I think Beastmen could be considered 8th edition (even though they came out at the end of 7th). Beastmen also go a little screwed by some of the rule changes in 8th (so you may not want to count them).

Vampire Counts are also now 8th ed.

LM were done fairly late in 7th, so they will probably be a long time before they get a new book. And given the power level of the 8th ed books (they're all fairly well balanced against each other but much lower than most 7th ed books) I would expect LM to get some pretty big nerfs.

Can't believe I left VC out, I own that army. Skaven also got a new book fairly late (just before Beastmen, I believe), so they will be a while in coming as well.

Speaking of Skaven, their FAQ is 9 pages long. A new book for them will be well overdue by the time it comes out.

They ALWAYS have massive FAQs. It because the writers put so much effort into making them characterful; almost every single choice in the army has its own completely unique special rule, even slaves. Thats a great thing for the flavour of the army, but not so good for trying to balance the army. And not so good for every other army which usually gets an army wide special rule and thats about it.

Based on the trend of 8th ed books so far, I think Skaven players are going to be somewhat unhappy when their next book comes out. They could get toned down and simplified quite a lot potentially.

I've also heard many a rumor now that Warriors of Chaos might be the next army book released. Even though I've started collecting them I fully expect to see some serious nerfzilla action on this army. Though I am VERY much looking forward to see how the chaos magic lores comes out in 8th edition.
