Hey guys, just wanted to post that I beat a skaven player today. He surrendered by 5th turn. In a 2250 battle, he managed to score 42 points. He was a bit depressed.
Holy crap that is a massive win, he must have hardly scratched your army. What did both of your lists look like? Was there any defining moment in the battle where he lost a lot of points at once, such as a weapon team going horribly wrong or something?
He took lots of clanrats, five rattling guns, a warpfire thrower, two cannons, some rat ogres, a bell unit, two engineers, and some globadiers. I had two groups of saurus, three groups of skinks, Slaan and temple guard, an EotG, a skink priest on foot. He outnumbered my insanely. For magic, all of my spellcasters had heavens, with three Uranon's bolts and two comets available. First turn I deployed very far back and used Uranon's to take out one rattling gun, failing or having all other spells dispelled. Second turn i moved up some skinks and destroyed the rest of his weapons teams with magic. Third turn a comet struck and killed an engineer, panicking globadiers. It also killed his grey seer. Fourth turn I killed the Rat ogres and held in his charge of skaven. By fifth turn, he had killed half a skink unit with a lighning cannon (which they later charged and took) and his clanrats had been flanked by saurus and charged by stegadon. He surrendered having killed 42 points. I would have had all four corners, 6 banners, and the general slain, for a score of 3350 by sixth turn. We kept record of it under the title "Blood Orgy"
