Replace their weapons with maracas and give them sombreros, KROXIGOR MARIACHI BAND! No but actually throwing them in a skink unit is probably the best way if you want them to be on the table.
I've had success using a group of four of them in a 2X2 flanking force. I tend to have enough threats in my force - at least two stegadons to begin with - that they don't tend to get a lot of attention.
I'd be interested to hear more details about that assertion. I just bought 12 Kroxigors on e-bay on an impulse (that brings me to 19). You are about the first person on these forums I eer read who seems to prefer Kroxigors over Skroxigor blocks.
I use them to block the flanks of my saurus or temple guard, or try to maneuver them to flank charge opponents. Other times I have used them to block line of sight for my heroes on cold ones so they couldn't be shot at. I find the smaller formation much easier to maneuver. Also I find the skinks give the opponent to much combat res as they are far too easy to wound being T2, I prefer the 4+ armor save and T4 of the krox for resisting blows.
This is my big problem with them. You must get them in the flank or they get eaten. Or you can cast something like Flesh to Stone to toughen them up a bit. Remember that as the kroxigor form the second rank the enemy unit must attack the skinks.
