A lake/pond

my gaming group does not have any water features and given that our skinks and kroxigors are aquatic i want to build a lake/pond/circular water feature.
i can probably find some plastic to base it on, but other than that i have no ideea what to do. i need to make the shores and to make it look like water.
any help is apreciated

asrodric have a youtube channel, he made a vid with shores just add another colour instead of blue, what ever you like

i did see that vid, its quite usefull for making a beach-type-thingy... but i need a still water feature, can't use the waves. alltough stacking modelling sand could work for shores
