As with anyone else in here, I'm very eager to see, if our new book will be just as competitive as the previous edition :) - Therefore, I also tried to assemble a quick list with some of the new possibilities. I like to have a great variety/diversity in my army. (Multipurposeses)

    Lords (445pts)
    Slann Mage-Priest
    - Channelling Staff
    - Focus of Mystery
    - Harmonic Convergence
    - Ironcurse Icon
    - Resevoir of Eldritch Energy
    - Battle standard
    - Standard of Discipline
So, I wanted a strong magic phase, since a lot of my units need buffs from beast or hand of glory. Hence why i Kitted the Slann out to have a good chance to get extra dices in both phases

    Heroes (604pts)
    Sarus Scar-Veteran
    - Cold One
    - Great Weapon
    - Light Armour
    - Dragon bane gem
    - Sacred Stegadon Helm of Itza
I'm just toying with an idea of a strong cowboy. Imagine if this guy get Wyssan's Wildform. Suddently, he will be str. 8 toughness 7 and may deal quite a punch

    Skink Chief
    - Dragonhelm
    - Light Armour
    - Ripperdactyl
    - The Egg of Quango

This guy is somewhat of an "easterEGG" :artist: . He may perform well, with killing blows and the egg of quango being some sort of a threat! - He may also fail hard. But I think it may be worth a try. I dont know if I should go with a terradon instead of ripperdon for reliability. Also the points saved, could be used on a warrior bane sword

    Skink Chief
    - Lustrian Javelin
    - Shield

    Skink Chief
    - Lustrian Javelin
    - Shield

    Skink Chief
    - Lustrian Javelin
    - Shield

So, I wanted to try fielding cheap heroes. Just like OnG are able to do so. They are supposed to join the small Skrox unit. In this way, the enemy has to choose between hiting the unit, my heroes or my kroxigors. I wanted to field them cheap, so they got a shield for the parry save and the javelin. Javelins can be used as melee and ranged wep, and since my chiefs have a BS of 5, I might as well make use of that. 9 (are they allowed to shot as many time as their attack profile?) str 4 shots w. chance of poison! - Yes please.
Also.... The entire unit can be buffed with Wyssan's Wildform or The Savage Beast of Horros (if i'm lucky with spell swapping on slann or spell rolling on skinks)

    Skink Priest (beast)
    - Dispel Scroll

    Skink Priest (beast)
    - Cube of Darkness
The above two priests, are supposed to help protecting me against magic with their scrolls. Furtermore, they are important for buffing my units with Wyssan's Wildform and acts as extended vision for my Slanns missiles or other damaging spells

    Core (625pts)
    30 x Saurus Warriors
    - Musician
    - Standard Bearer
    - Spear
I wanted to test Saurus with spears, for more attacks and chance of getting PF. My Ancient steg will stay nearby, to provide the "parry save"

    10 x Skink Skirmishers

    18 x Skinks
    - 2 x Kroxigor
    - Musician
    Chiefs go in here

    Special (446pts)
    5 x Chameleon Skinks

    17 x Temple Guard
    - Musician
    - Standard Bearer
    - Banner of Swiftness
I know it's an odd number, but I could'nt afford anymore.

    3 x Terradon Riders
    - 3 x Fireleech Bolas
I have always been using terradons, and I just love them. Now they even come with flaming weapons - I just HAVE to try this.

    Rare (380pts)
    Ancient Stegadon
    - Engine of the Gods
    - Sharpened Horns
    Goes near Saurus.

    1 x Salamander Hunting Pack
Hmm flaming template with str 4. I like it, since it gives me more "reliable" wounds, than str. 3 "shooting" template

So, I really wanted to try out some new possibilities, without having to invest a lot of money into monsters (as for now at least) - I could use some feedback, especially on my Scar cowboy and Flying Chief, since I am not used to building "stand-alone" chars :)

So instead of an "standard" build, I tried to make a somewhat Character heavy list, since we now have acces to some cheap buffing from the beast lore.
