And I'm still surprised by it. I was looking around on the internet for artwork and info on Gotrek (having been shown the artwork for him in the last book) and I found myself on 4chan (keep reading, it doesn't get as terrible as you might think). As an FYI, I've put this in the Lizardman discussion as the End times involves all races. Someone summed up (rather poetically), who the real winner of the End times is and a shocking twist on who that figure at the end of the fifth book might be (and it's neither Sigmar or Archaon). ***SPOILERS*** The real winner is....GOTREK! And here's why: 1. Every elf is now dead. 2. All those mentioned in the book of grudges has been destroyed, therefore every oath in the book as been fulfilled. 3. Gotrek has not only been redeemed, he has become the new Grimnir, an avatar of honour, courage, determination, stubbornness and might. 4. He gets the one thing that brings him true peace, he holds back the tide of chaos forever, fighting against countless demons. But what about his rememberer, what about Felix? Felix is still bound to Gotrek as rememberer and Slayer and with Gotrek going from insanely OP Slayer to immortal Dwarf god, who is to say that the figure at the end of the fifth End times book couldn't be Felix? ***END OF SPOILERS*** Hopefully some Espresso for the mind.
This seems very unlikely.....but I like it. If it turns out to be completely wrong I say we use it as basis mythology for Lizardhammer.
It's a nice idea but I honestly don't think GW is so deft in their lore writing to do such a thing, I think they'll likely choose either the obvious ending (Sigmar) or obvious twist ending (Archaon). Never actually read the Gotrek books, but I assume they sell well so GW might still want to sponge off the IP later on. I wouldn't be surprised if they found a way to keep G&Fs fate ambiguous to go back to them if they need the cash. Or am I being too cynical?
havnt read the books, but I get the gist of it. its probably wrong though, as dataminers have found an entry on GW's websites product category named "age-of-sigmar" ^^
Interesting theory Rikard. I do at least agree that the Book of Grudges can now be put to rest as all grudges are probably avenged (in one way or another). At the risk of being totally bias towards the only playable race I like in Fantasy, the Lizardmen are the only real winners of the End Times amongst the forces of order. They are the only faction that (as a unified race) escaped the world before Chaos took over and are still floating in space after the End Times. They will probably be re-introduced to the new Fantasy world as the new "Old Ones".
