I've been trying to come up with creative ways to use our heroes, and suddenly I had this guy on my hands: Chief @ 124 pts - Terradon - Blowpipe - Potion of Toughness - Charmed Shield - Light Armour - Spear Obviously his job is to get to the enemy backfield ASAP and start causing havoc. The cool thing about this guy is that for a turn you can make him practically unkillable at range. Massed small arms fire will bounce right off a T6 guy with 3 wounds and a 4+ save, and the shield will provide good protection against war machines (as will T6 if you're facing bolt throwers). Of course being a Chief he's not that killy, but he should be able to take down war machine crews without too much bother, and if you want to improve your odds you can spend the last 25pts of magic allowance on a weapon. Oh, and don't forget the rocks and blowpipe if you spot a lone mage who thinks he's safe just because he's not visible for a charge... Maybe even add a Ruby Ring for mo dakka? What do you think? Edit: had a look at the army book and it seems only units of Terradons get to drop rocks. Shame. I guess you'll have to leave the rock-dropping to a unit of Terradons if you want that.
Pretty killy for such a lil' guy! I like him. Another interesting thing that came up in our last game. In the LM book it says that when a model in a unit of terradons pass over a unit they can drop rocks. However it does not specify (nor does it in the FAQ) that everyone in the unit is allowed to drop rocks. Leave one to say "So if the model didn't itself pass over the unit it doesn't hit the unit." While frustrating it does make sense. If a guy on the far flank doesn't pass over a unit how can his rocks hit the unit. I"m pretty sure our skinks to add FLIR and laser guided rocks before battle. Input?
it says "they", "they" is a plural, terradon riders are singular. "they" would denote all of them imo. otherwise it would say "for each terradon that passes over the unit" (think screamers of tzeentch)
He's ok... but that many point it's a lot of skinks which are more wounds, they are potentially more killy (and they are still pretty fast). I think hes nice but to be completely competative I would still suggest you would get more value for money from skink skirmishers while doing a similar job (quick, manouverable, harrassment)
