It is very powerful and the only way to win is to simply grind it down, which in theory will not happen. I have gone almost undefeated with this list and done very well in Grand Tournament style lists.
Really? I don't see anything in this list that makes it any different than most of the other lists I've seen. How do you play it? The only difference I see in the list is the 2 razordons. Usually people don't take those. Other than that, it looks pretty similar to a lot of other lists on this forum.
Its really a list you have to play to see how it is. Its the sheer amounts of units and things you have to worry about that makes it tough. I usually set it up something like this.... ............Skink Skirmishers....skink skirtmishers.......Skink Skirmishers. Terradons.....EoTG....Saurus...TG...Saurus...Razordons...Cold Knights Will finish post later getting late and finals tommorow.
I'd imagine that even with the engine wardsave you'd have trouble with a DE magic-gunline. 2 to 4 boltthrowers, 3 units of repeater crossbows and some dark riders (with repeater xbows), a couple of small units of shades with repeater xbows, a lvl 4 and one or two lvl 2's (a lvl 4 and a lvl 2 with the right items can pump out as much magic as a slann and engine, two lvl 2's makes it substantially more thanks to power of darkness) and finally a small unit or two of harpies for marchblocking. 100+ shots a turn at good BS and 24" or more (so shooting from turn 1 onwards), and as much or more offensive magic than you. What would your m4 infantry and 12" shooting do against that? Have you had to face any such list like that yet? They are really quite common at UK tournies. Obviously the question is a bit hypothetical and I only mean for a general answer. My list would play avoidance, trying to hide behind a hill or behind/in a forest and drop four-dice comets on the squishy elves (I have no TG and no big blocks so I can feasibly do that without giving away points - lone slann).
That what the skinks are for in front of the battle line, blocking line of site. During my magic phase give them the 5+ ward and they will protect of the rest of the infantry. The Slann could shut down most of the DE phase, but not all. The Terradons will be war machine hunters during the game.
