Any ideas? They can out muscle saurus, and even put up against Stegadons sometimes. Skinks have troubles with the armor, and their magic can be terrifying. The guy I plays gives frenzy to his units to make them immune to psych, and I try baiting them, but they can usually tough it out against whatever hits them. So, any ideas?
Metal lore with heavy slann to kill their armor. Skinks to hunt their mages and fast cav. Sallies to kill their blocks, -3 armor rocks. And simply stegadon + TG to stop their devastading heavy cav. Once a time, I destroyed a WoC in 4 turns just by using metal lore and skinks. Just have to kill his mages with burning rule of iron, and their cav with spirit of the forge. All the advice I can give.
As I would have sayd it myself Gannon! Have lots of experience vs WoC and if you can take out their Heavy cav and avoid their infantry, you should be good to go. WoC hate skinks. Remember they have the worst shooting in the game..
I would use (especially against frenzied units, and in this case it's better because his whole ARMY is frenzied) the lore of fire and just keep hitting his infantry and cav with wall of fire. Perfect for frenzied units!!!
Against a completely movement-based army, terradons are pure gold. March blocking or charge baiting are their main functions here, though the rocks could probably hurt marauders. If your opponent runs with a hellcannon, terradons can pelt away at it and try to wipe out the crew, so that the hell cannon comes into the WoC rear. You can even direct the cannon to where the enemy is thickest by positioning the terradons properly and fleeing.
I always find the infantry to be far more dangerous than the knights... I focus on trying to kill the knights, get one or two out of each unit (my opponent has 3 units) then beat them down in combat, usually goes well. Then the block of warriors with a crazy 2+ AS are basically untouchable. Last game I tried baiting them to expose the flank, they just ignored the bait, happy to wait an extra turn before reaching combat. Bolt throwers are good for killing knights, just whittle them down a bit at range so you have the static combat res advantage then try to hit them on several sides at once.
I have had wiped out an entire regiment or two with just a ancient of the gods and that weapon that allows for 2d6 impact hits... I got lucky and got a 9 and 11 on either rolls, which ultimatley destroyed both units.
I ran into a tough WoC army at the last tourney I went to. It just blitzed me. We did pretty well in combat against them, but at the end of the game he was able to grab table quarters and beat me that way.
