In a smaller game I wanna test out something stupid basically this 5 cold ones. a scar vet on a cold one with wardrums of xehetc and a skink chief on an ancient steggie(or normal steggie) with a stegadon warspear. that would be one squad. I'm almost positive that is expensive overkill for one unit. but just felt like I should still get opinions.(also it sucks skink chiefs cant go onto a cold one or else I'd have a skink drummer instead of saurus drummer.)
A stegadon isn't usually the best choice in low point games, makes the rest of your army too small. If your going to do it though, I'd suggest an EoTG as its abilities are far more deadly. If you do field an EoTG give it the wardrums of xahutec, it will help keep it safe and help you circle your enemies so you can continue to use the burning pulse on them. Your 5 cold ones at low points cost don't need a vet leading them, they should hit pretty good the way they are, you could probably field a priest instead since you would have the EoTG and you'd have a magic advantage. Though lore of heavens sucks for the most part... I'd suggest dropping any stegadon all together, then 5 cold ones and a vet with them is much more plausible. The rest of your army will be able to support that hammer unit... Good Luck...
well the question was more how deadly would all of that hitting at once be hah. more thinking out of boredom and the image of all of that going at once.
Well if your just imaging then you could imagine a 3k game and imagine 8 cold one with full command, oldblood with blade of realities, scar-vet bsb, and scar-vet on cold one, with the ancient steggy and war-spear and it could have the warbanner and do crazy dmg... They would have 2 banners, Warbanner, 2 Ranks, and four fighty characters, do 2d6+1 impact hits, but only at a 12" range unless you through Huanchi's blessed totem so steggy got +d6" on charge, to potentially have a 13-18" charge... But that would take every bolt thrower, cannon, and spell in the entire warhammer world, right to the face... So....yeah....imagine that....
I vote the smiley-face counts as a fifth word, so you lose... But seriously, of course that unit would have serious issues, though...with enough skink skirmishers and terradons you could prolly get it into combat. It still wouldn't be worth the points sink, for a deathstar it doesn't have enough staying power, only hitting power. A good player could lock you up with throwaway units or flankers, and take it down. Of course, there is also magic...
