    Hey folks,

An interesting combo I ran in a 1500 point tourny this past weekend involved the scroll of hexing (50 point scroll which forces an enemy caster to roll his dice. If he rolls under or equals to his level he's good. Over and he turns into a toad with all 1's for stats except wounds) and the blood statuette.

Now, I realize this doesn't work against everyone but think of who you're facing.

LVL 1 and 2 wizards are so easy to turn into a frog. This is great because the synergy with the blood statuette makes killing a T1 wizard a breeze. You want to kill off even the lower level mages because of the new rules involving only taking 1 of each spell per army, so if they've got one of the good spells you can eliminate it early (Pit of Shades?)

Making him M1 almost forces him out of the unit or else they march 2 inches... Then bomb him with teradons or something. Initiative and leadership 1 makes instant gibbing him easy with the plethora of spells and items that can do it (BoR).

Don't forget this nullifies his equipment until he turns back on a 4+.

LVL 2 guys are supporters or something like an ogre who is really hurt by this item. LVL 4 guys are things like Teclis who is vulnerable to the statuette anyway... Or else they are slann and the you're hunting priests or something I guess.

By no means an instant win button but it can Seriously mess with your opponent.

    Plus it's just so perfect.
"My Slann turns your wizard into a toad!"
"Crap, he was my general... His leadership is 1 also?"
"Yeah. But it makes sense, I know I'd never follow a toad into battle..."

Now without my book here at work I can't say but does the Blood Statuette say "unmodified toughness"? if it does then I don't think this combo will work. Otherwise it is very interesting, but still a lot of points.

Per the rule book: "That character must immediately take a toughness test. If this test is failed, then the model loses a wound with no armour saves allowed. If the model takes a wound, it must immediately take another toughness test, losing another wound if it fails again. This continues until either the model passes a toughness test or is slain.

I did not look to see if it was errata'd though.

I would love to use that against a HE caster. That would be priceless.

I'm kinda liking the Statuette + Shadow Toughness Hex. That won't just kill a lvl 1 or 2 mage lol! Problem being it relies on casting 2 spells essentially... maybe have Shadow magic, the statuette and the hex scroll to have multiple chances at whatever your targeting?
