Has anyone ever tried throwing out a line of chaff units to be charged and intentionally put a unit right behind them to be overran into? This'road block' could allow for some great flank charges on your turn. If you combat reform for ranks you could even influence the line of retreat (watch oncebitten's video on combat reforms to see what I'm talking about.

For instance, skink skirmishers 4" in front of a big saurus block with CORs waiting a flank charge.

I've been trying this recently. Last time I got my 10 Skink Javs charged in front of 36 Saurus with 30 Temple Guard off to the side. So far, the Skinks have been far more resilient than I would prefer. I stranded the saurus behind those skinks for 3 turns before the last skink finally broke ... and as he fled through my Saurus they failed their rerollable Ld10 test.

If the skinks had died/fled sooner and the Saurus hadn't fled, I would have tore through his army. Maybe the lack of a parry/shield in Blowpipes would be better for road blocking.

    Good call.

The guy I play against regularly runs beastmen and I've considered screening my solo slann with a small block of skinks that will get blown through with his frenzied units and plow into the Slann. I'm hoping that target will be so tempting that he won't notice the 6 krox and saurus cav unit about to flank him.
