Maybe I'm grumpy from lack of sleep from this annoying cold but the new January-February Contest Voting Thread looks hijacked.
Please keep threads on topic. The short story contest replies should be about the 11 stories. If you want to debut a new story, please start a new thread, don't put it in an existing thread, unless you are directly continuing a thread you started.
Also given that it's meant to be a high traffic thread, try not to pop too many little jokes there. One big thread is more reader friendly than multiple little ones ESPECIALLY if you do two consecutive posts where you are essentially replying to yourself (or three, Bob). Don't make a gazillion little posts when one post will ones. That's why we have the editing function.
We have a core of frequent posters but we also have forumites who lurk more than they post. Be courteous to them wanting to read the pieces and about them. Jokes about Slannada can go in their own thread.
Off-topic is good sometimes, particularly if the thread is a discussion or a humor page, but if a thread is set up to showcase x, then please keep the replies about x and not other stuff.
