We have seen a lot of changes, teleporting, summoning, EotGs .... What i am missing is the Dread Saurian Warscroll and also in the point list for summoning. looks like GW did it again: ignore one of the funniest models! i have to admit, summoning a dread could to to hard to deal, maybe for 35 points? i will never give up my dread, no madder what!!!!!!
The dread saurian is a mess. It doesn't have the monster keyword and it's technically not a seraphon model due to being a celestial seraphon (not that I play it this way)
All warscrolls are yet to be update. Knowing Forge World, they can do it even later. We only need to be patient and they'll do their work.
Yes it’s not an every game unit/model. I suspect just for uniformity it will have a summon value. Total want one my self. Would have to keep quite and put it on the table to surprise my friends in a game
have you played him in 1000 point battles? me and my friends want to play a little 1k point tournament and i want to test my dread in battle. the others are going to play free peoples, beastriders, orcs, stormcast and tzzech.
I have a Dread coming in this weekend.... I sincerely hope they update him before the release on the 30th... and he is devastating in 1k battles. I proxied a carno as him for a casual test game... it wasn't pretty. ripped a new a$$hole through sigmar like you wouldnt believe.
Forge world are in a bad place currently, in terms of rules getting out of the door. New models as well, I am sure you will have noticed that the past 4 weeks have been basically "buy this discountinued stuff!" and today was some doors. Not exactly ground breaking. They've been moving old stock to make room for new, they lack warehouse space - that's fine... But the lack of new rules for anything is really bad. Hopefully they are not doing much because behind the scenes they're preparing a new release for with AoS2, maybe. Maybe.
One can only hope... I also hope the Dread is no more than 30 pts (keeping with the theme of 6 points per tier increase)
I am not sure but that sounds VERY strong to me. If you consider that 50 Skinks (300 points) are 30 points I doubt you will get a Dread Saurian for 30. 30 summoning points would be possible to accumulate in just two rounds. Two Dread Saurians per game would be possible.... If you go by the point cost divided by ten rule (which roughly fits for the others) then the DS would be 36 at least.
You'd probably slaughter everyone. You buff it with a skink priest to reroll saves, and an astrolith bearer to give it rerolls to hit who can follow it by LOSAT around the map. Then just take skinks for objectives. Suddenly you have a 3+ rerollable charge save and run, and if you're a big enough dork you can show your friends the warscroll and suddenly point out hes not a monster so as long as he toes into cover he gets a cover save due to poorly written rules. Anyway, don't be that guy. It's a fun model and super fun to run but it's really hard for an unoptimized list to kill (its like an imperial knight in 40k except this thing has spill over damage). Oh and he also isn't a Seraphon model either since theres no comma between celestial and seraphon on the warscroll. Welcome to tournaments
Wow you really would be "THAT GUY"... rules change for a comma... which means he's not takable in tournaments? He is not a sig which is our only ally, and if he's not a Seraphon....
Why should he not be allowed? ok, he doesnt have the monster keyword. ok, hey doesnt have the "right" seraphon keyword. ok, he doesnt have a base that fits him. BUT: he is the biggest and best Dino Model of all time! he is not just a saurus, he is THE ONE and only Saurus! And do i get this correct: The Starpriest can buff the Dread double damage? so we are taking about 4 attacks, 3+hit,3+wound, d6 dmg and then double? so 24 possible dmg regular into 48 dmg? WTF?
bites and jaws, which has been read in the two events I participated in ( so admittedly extremely little experience lol) to include the ripper dactyl beak attacks. so I don't see why it wouldn't work on him.
Yes. Lot of fun. You can do it once or twice, but don't do it more often or you will lose all your friends.
