Everyone loves Kroak in 2.0 - no surprise there, but it looks like the two main list styles are Shadowstrike / Engine of Gods or Dracothian's Tail / Firelance list of knights. What are everyone's thoughts?
That one with Kroak, Slann and two Astroliths is hilarious. Can someone explain to me the appeal of Dracothion's Tail? Is it just minimizing the number of drops that makes it popular?
Yea, I was wondering that too. Personally, I'd much rather try to scrounge up another 10pts to upgrade a 5-man knight unit to 10, rather than take the battalion for the drops. In another army I could see the value, but when Seraphon already has Masters of Space and Time it seems over-rated.
Because its a battalion that allows your whole army to fit into it. You have one drop, the Dracothian's Tail, so the only armies that will compete with you on going first would be other one drop armies, which aren't very common.
Oh thats mine, was something I was playing around with. Worked pretty well, theres a lot of summoning points to be had and its pretty versatile. Still missed my thunderquake though. Dracotians tail allows you to summon in kroak, provides a 1drop and makes it hard for you to be alpha'd and frees up skinks for mixed order armies as they arent battleline anymore.
Why have two astrolith bearers instead of one? My gut reaction is that it's bit spendy at 160pts per. Was for a back-up for the D3 Celestial Conjuration pts, or one for the +1 to cast for the Slann and one for battleline rerolls, or what?
They stack. With balewind its minimum 25" on deliverance. The redundancy isnt really relevent as the d3 is just a bonus and you already have two slann.
All of AoS2 Seraphon seems a little OP tbh: great allegiance abilities, best summoning, best spellcasting, rule of 1 ignoring models and cheap yet strong battalions. I wish they made us a bit more rounded and less all-in Slann powered madness. Right now I have to try hard to make Seraphon lists that don't scare people off without throwing all our cool stuff out the window.
Wait, Astroliths stack? Er...somehow I feel like that will get FAQ'd. If not though, that's completely absurd. At least their conjuration generation doesn't lmao.
Oh I know, I just meant I think they will change the spellcasting buff to the same wording of 'one or more'. Cos +2 casting and +16" range on every spell is a little absurd.
For 320 points? Its not that absurd. Remember seraphon don't have a lot to cast outside of Deliverance. You can buff arcane bolt (wooo?) and some of the buff spells, but ttheyre 20" range anyway. Deliverance after the first are above average casts. Theyre among the hardest to cast spells in the game.
What are your thoughts on the nerfs that kroak and the astrolith brearer got with the new faq? Still good?
Ha, no. Hes pretty much never going to see play again. Too expensive for very little damage output. Combination of a series of nerfs when only one or two were needed.
