Well that actually happened, as a way to test AoS, and play some games of course. So, the restrictions, were : max 30 models, and max 5 warscrolls, no proxy. As you can understand, the multiwounded models had their day. Here are the lists : Undead : Nagash 17 blood Knights 10 tomb king chariots 1 terrorgaist 1 Necrosphinx Chaos : Archaon 26 chaos warriors Hellacannon warshrine Lizardmen 17 temple guard 10 chameleons 1 stegadon 1 engine 1 slan Demons: bloodthirster 3 Plague drones 1 grinder 10 chaos knights 5 stormfields with ratlinguns Chaos : Chaos lord on jugernaut 10 flesh hounds 15 chaos knights 3 chariots 1 abomination Demons: 6 flamers 6 flamers 6 screamers 6 screamers 1 Deamon Prince tzeentch Orcs: Azhag the Slaughter Arachnarork and goblin shaman 1 mangler squig 10 stone trolls 17 boar boys Orcs: Grimgor Wanzag the prophet 1 mangler 1 giant 21 black orcs Can you guess the victor?
When you don't have the ability to react to what is being placed against you, as the standard rules allow, then yeah, stuff like a bloodthirster or Nagash gain huge unintended benefits and likely will win.
Seraphon. Engine + Slann too OP. Temple guard with 3+ save near a character, w/ mistic shield 2+ save ignoring rend of -1.
Do summoned units count towards the max warscrolls/wound count? That would give the summoning armies a boost or shoot them in the foot depending on what the answer is.
I like the mono-Tzeentch list. I think it could have a decent shot in any game. There's a lot of subtle power in there. Nagash list is crazy, though. Probably won it because spam.
As it stands now. Summonning is crazy. Slann can try to summon 3 units per turn, as he can cast 3 spells. EOTG has a high chance to summon another unit while being unharmed. 4d6 discarding one of your chose for a 14-17 roll is easy. So.... Plant BSB, try to take the +1 cast constelation. Try to Summon another EOTG. with Slann. Activate Engine, if you can summon, then bring another EOTG. Activate further summoned EOTG. And remember, EOTG cannot be dispelled. Let's assume you have in turn 2 2 or 3 EOTG. This is madness.
To be fair just assembling the models can be a huge commitment. I've been finding it hard to just do that with full time job, home ownership, and a 13 month old baby. As long as they have the blasted things and there's some sort of soft comp I don't see the issue.
Assembling takes time, yes, but nothing like the time it takes to actually treat this hobby as the full hobby it is. Painting matters.
The winner was Laskoulas a long time tournament player (etc people in here might have heard of him) with his lizards. He posted shortly afterwards that the best list by far was the undead with nagash. My buddy who is not a competitive player at all actually fielded this, as it was a good chance for him to field his Nagash....he scored 1 victory and two ties! Thoughts : Summoning is really strong ...lizard man summoned 6 engines A "better" player with the nagash list could have dominated everything Model count without wounds count leads to single wounded models being thrown out the window
Don't...play...AoS as a tournament game. It's not one! I played a totally wonderful AoS game tonight with almost zero pre-talk. That's the game, not tournaments.
hehe as i said, too OP I just played 3 games and Lizardmen no... Seraphon, are silly. - Ripperdactyles - Kroxigor moon hammer. - Slann summoning - BSB - Engine - Salamanders - Chameleons. - Stegadon w/ Bolt Thrower - Bastiladon w/ mistic shield or cover or both. - Templeguard
