read away fellas.....doesnt look like there is a lot of lizardry action going on in Archaon.. http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.1.5qAQkz&id=43207727832&ns=1&abbucket=1#detail
Why should there? I mean honestly, why? We've escaped to the void/space and whatever we have left on the planet probably isn't noteworthy. I'm not surprised tbh. I'm more curious whether or not we're still an actual army come next edition or if we're just some sort of supplement..
dont know what I expected really...had a tiny hope that we would get more than a "you fought and fought, here is your golden handshake, now on with you...clap everyone..clap....bye bye..... ......... .. ..great...they are gone..NOW ELVES!"
but we didn't even get that xD We got raped and send off into space. Of all the races ours is the one that suffered most. I realize that a player who own The Empire, High Elf etc. would say the same, but none of them had a bunch of their special characters killed, along with most of the lords (slanns) followed by getting send to SPACE. Going strictly be the End Time books Lizardmen are basically no more until we reappear. I cannot imagine what little effect we would have on the current settings. Things are about to get blown to sh1t and a bunch of random skinks are not going to change that. We're fvcked and that's the end of the story. Let's just hope the trend doesn't continue in 9th edition.
Slanns feels sad about all this crap. http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2012/317/5/a/mage_priest_by_jaspersandner-d5kxb3t.jpg
We didn't get raped, don't be such a negative Nancy. Plus, we've only lost our Slann special characters, the rest are apparently "beyond the horizon". (Which seems to be different than space where the Slann went) Anyway, I am personally disappointed that the Elves got FOUR of the 8 lores for themselves, greedy bastards. Hopefully the last book will be a fun wild ride. If we're lucky, all the elves will die! Anyway, let's see how the apocalypse goes!
I'm fairly certain that everybody so far have been saying that not slanns died trying to stop the pieces of the moon falling down. But fair enough, fact is that we lost the oldest beings in the game, received a very mediocre formation, didn't receive any other updates/units and got send off into the horizon. Even the dwarfs got more than us. And the ogres? Seem to merge with O&G.
Hey guys, I've been so bogged down with Nagash that I haven't really looked into the present, let alone the future. Having got my son to read Thanquol and then tell me the juicy bits, I thought, "We've bugged out, received nothing new and lost a lot. Therefore, us being the most firstest race, we will come back in End Times book X with new space lizards and lasers, and, and BIGGER dinosaurs, and a pony and you know, stuff. Then we will kick ass." Is Archaon the last book? Is there room for just a teeny bit more afterwards? Like hover boards. Yeah! I been waiting for hover boards since "Back to the Future" part 2. And its 2015 already. If I don't get a hoverboard this year, I at least want a Stegadon Giant Bow with a laser scope.... Got any good news for me guys?
Archaon should be the last end times book. The next in line is rumored to be 9th, which will hit shelves in May or something close.
"That word you use. I do not think it means what you think it means." "Which one do you mean? Mahrlecht?" "Si !"
Please, explain me how is it possible that games workshop isn't selling this last book, but you can already buy it on some chinese site?
Honestly, I'm hoping this is true. I'd rather just get 9th edition already, even if there could potentially be a final book that *might* include Lizardmen in a more prominent role. Besides, we all know a potential new End Times book would probably be called "Teclis" or "We love elves" or something to that effect.
[EDIT] nevermind, read it in the thread above can someone fill me in? what happened to our special characters and which book discusses this? and i read something about temple cities are really space shilps so lizardmen armies have left the world... is that also in one of the books?
This thread I wrote contains everything that happened in Thanquol. Don't listen to the pessimists, it was a fun read and epic story. Also I cannot emphasize this enough, ONLY THE SLANN WENT TO SPACE, THE LIZARDMEN DID NOT. ALL SAURUS, DINOS, SKINKS, AND KROXIGORS THAT SURVIVED WERE BUBBLED BY KROAK AND APPEAR TO HAVE GONE INTO A SEPARATE DIMENSION, MUCH LIKE THE ELVES AND UNDEAD ARE SET UP TO DO. So don't be sad, yes the toads are gone, but perhaps not forever. The Lizardmen may be at the beginning of 9th, or maybe they'll be released a little later once GW feels safe that 9th will do well, but I have a strong belief that the Lizards will return. (Without the slann, so maybe our race will be more interesting from a novel sense in that lizardmen may have emotions and other things that make a black library book for us currently impossible) On a complete side note, I strongly believe this is the final book. It is AT LEAST the size of Nagash and there's very little left to do. Only Athel Loren, the very southern parts of the Empire, and Sylvania remain in tact. This book (from the leaks I've read) will focus on the final betrayals (such as some undead turning to chaos like Walach Harkon did and the corrupted tree spirits of the Wildwood like by Drycha and the evil ancient the resides there), the battle against the host led by Tzeentch's champions (Kairos and Vilitch the Cursling), and finally the Grand Legion of the Everchosen led by Archaon himself, who seems to placate hard-mode to Khorne leading up to the final battle.
The Lizardman parts of Thaquol were absolutely amazing. They are definitely worth a read. They did us justice.
You never know, maybe those leaked pages are there to mislead us. After all, if the rumors are to be taken as fact, there is supposed to be a new race coming into play. What will their part be in the End Times? Will they come in out of the blue at the end of the book and leave everyone going, "Holy Hell, WHAT?!?!". I'm thinking, since I have heard very little about the Brets in all of this, that they will be totally redone, rather than have a new random race of super holy/good human warriors.
