So, according to the main rulebook, the armor save is now capped at 1+, but say that you have a -1 armour save, and get hit by a strength 8 weapon(ouch). will that mean you only get a 6+ save? Or will you get the 4+ save? Thanks.

You will only have the 6+ save. Anything that would take you to better than 1+ is not counted.

If your saurus character on a cold one has a 1+ save already, and you give him a shield, he still has 1+ save.

When mounted your models get a +1 modifier to your armoursave although cold ones have thinkend skin which gives a fruther +1 to the armour save so this only realts to Lizzie's and possibly Dark Elves.

Thats not true. Most races have armour and barding that would allow them to get a better than 1+ save accoring to the old rulebook. Combine that with spells that boost armour (glittering robes) and every army could boost characters to better than 1+ armour saves in 7th. Now however 1+ saves can not be inmproved in any way.

The 1+ armor cap is for all races. It's found on page 43 of the main rulebook, third paragraph and eighth paragraph.
