7th Ed. army list for a summer time tournament

    I am attending a tournament Next summer put on by the Warhammer-online forum and I am working on a 1500 pt list. I am hoping this thread can be a WIP for my list, I have an idea for what I want to do, but need to play some games to work out the kinks.

    so the list:

    1 EOTG 420
    w/ drum

    1 scar vet 145
    w/ Chotec, Ench shield, COne

    10 skink 50
    10 skink 50
    10 skink 50
    10 skink 50

    5 COC 225
    w/ FOC

    Stegadon 235

    Sally 80
    w/xtra crew

    3 terries 90

    point total 1395

    so I got 105 points to play with. Would love some advice and as i play games with the list (abotu once a week) I will update with my thoughts on how units have worked

    Looks pretty balanced. You have a fair amount of magic without going overboard. My concern is that you don't have a Dispel scroll (never leave home without at least one!) You might wanna add plaque of tepok for a better chance of getting decent spells.

    I don't know why, for the Love of the Lizard Gods! People are getting away from Saurus units...it doesn't make sense to me why. I suggest cutting three of your skink units, buying two units of skirmishers and two units of 12-16 Saurus w/spears. Mus./Stand optional, leave out the champ. Skink rank and File don't have staying power at 10 (or even 20 to an extent). You need the power of the Saurus.

    I like both units. They have hitting power and are mobile. At your point level you'd have to sacrifice your Salamander for an ancient so I recommend keeping the regular Steg.


    Good choices. Nothing to say about these, excellent choices.

    I was typing up a reply, but hit the preview button and saw that Mavrick beat me to it, and on top of that said almost exactly the same as me! I agree with pretty much everything, drop the cohorts for 2-3 units of skirmishers. Get 1-2 naked units of 12 Saurus with spears (standard gives away too many VPs if they're broken but Mu can be useful), or 15-16 with FC and stick the scar vet there if you want some real staying power. Also get plaque of tepoc, 2 spells is very unreliable when you're stuck with the lore of heavens.

    wow.... I meant to put Skink Skirmishers in not Cohort's!!! So they are 70 a piece not 50.

    That eats up most of my remaining points so now i have

    you should still get rid of 2 skink skirmisher units for a block of saurus and the extra on your skink priest
    because other wise you have no real fighter/anvil units and you cant run for ever with skinks

    but otherwise i think its a balanced list :) Geko
