At last some finished lizardmen

After taking nearly a year to finish my skinks I'm finally getting round to painting the lizardmen, pretty pleased with the first 3 although the contrast on the scales doesn't really show on these. Not so chuffed with the bone crests and spines. Any tips on that and advice on how to get a sort of flinty/obsidean effect on the stone weapons would be really appreciated.

If you drybrush the edged of the obsidian it should help bring out some contrast and make them look sharper.
Obisian naturaly comes in a few colors, black with dark grey highlights, black with dark green highlights,
and I beilieve thre might be a dark purple as well.

hmmmm, dark green highlights, cool. I just can't seem to get the right shades for the bone though, I suppose I've got 15 more chances to get it right.

The skin looks really nasty! (In a positive way) You cold use some more highlight on the sheilds, but hey, if you don't feel you need to don't sweat it.

For bone, try a solid coat of bone white, then wash it in sepia
except for near the tip, leave most of that white,
then wash the botom part of the bone in delvin brown.

maybe do some final touchups with a drybrush of bone white.
