Hello, I have been out for a long time and a couple of us are getting back into the hobby. We started with the battalion box sets so we are going to paint them up first before going crazy. We need to figure out the new rules and such. haven't played since 5th edition. My question is given the BBS, would some of you be so kind and suggest an army list of sorts given the models? I guess maybe im looking more at where you would stick your general and what you would give him/arm him with and whom. I would imagine you would want himin the cold one unit, but again, I know a lot has changed and maybe there was something I didnt know here. I also bought a skink priest so you could throw him in. 800 or 1000 i figure. Thanks for your thoughts.
At 1000 points, you should be able to fit a Priest with a Dispel Scroll and a fully kitten out Scar Vet on a Cold One as well as taking full command in your Saurus, Temple Guard, and Cold Ones. For the Scar Vet, if you want a ward save you should give him the Armor of Destiny and a Great Weapon. If you are willing to risk it and go without a Ward Save (or need a magic weapon), you can take the Dawnstone to get a rerollable armor save (against S6 or less attacks the Dawnstone is equal to or better than a 4+ Ward), Lt Armor, Shield and some magic weapon (I like the +1 To Hit sword to help out with Predatory Fighter, or the I10 Sword if I'm going up against Elves. Either of these Swords would leave you with 10 more points to play around with for an arcane item) If you have some left over points, remember you can throw a cheap magic weapon on a TG Champion, and they can take a magic banner too!
Thank you. Appreciate the start. I though making the general the Cold One was the smart thing to do, but wondered if folks stacked him in the TG unit. Again thanks.
