For those of you who use Battlescribe to make your army lists, I spent Saturday evening making a catalog file. Been a while, but the file has been updated and placed in a fancy repository. all you need to do now is place this link into the manage data screen in battlescribe, and it should work for you. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/69584960/Lizardmen%208th%20ed/index.bsi (Be sure to make sure that there is only one "https://" at the beginning of the link, Battlescribe tends to add an extra for you) I've also posted it over at the Battlescribe repository/catalogue forum. (http://catalogue.randomhit.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=303) If you have no idea what I'm talking about: Battlescribe is free army list creation software, that works on computers and some (most?) phones. More at their website (http://www.battlescribe.net/index.html) Please let me know if there are any mistakes in the file or if you have problems with it, or even suggestions for improvement, either through the PM system in this forum or at my Email, AmorphousCube@gmail.com. You could post here, but this thread is pretty dead and outdated, so I wouldn't recommend it.
Are you sure? I don't mean to be rude, but I would hope more than one person would have said something if it has been downloaded 51 times like it says. I would hope so anyways. Are you sure you're using it correctly? I.E unzipping it and placing it into a repository (Like the main one from that site) with all the other .cat files? I can upload it again, but I just want to double check it's not user-end. (Again, I'm trying not to be rude, but it's tough with only characters on a web page)
First of all, thank you for your effort to make a .cat file for battlescribe There seems to be an issue with skink chief options. I am getting to choose magical armor twice, but no option for BRB/Special Weapons
10 of those downloads were me at least. dunno why it wouldn't open. I ended up using the first file. I can edit what needs fixing on it. Thank you again!
Ah it seems someone else had the same problem I did. It was a corrupt zip file because it wasnt a zip file like the first. Wish you didnt need to rename cats to upload seeing as thats the main battlescribe file
You can use http://randomhit.org/battlescribe_data/WHFB/index.xml to add the repository (this is what I'm using on my phone). However, the 8th edition Lizardmen book is not part of the repository at present.
I tried that, but it is a .zip and iOS doesn't give me the option of renaming. I can't open it in any of my apps either. What am I missing?
I can't help you with the phone, as I don't have one so I don't know how it works. The idea is that you download the second file, remove the .zip extension, and place it in with the other .cat files in the repository from that site.
Hey I did notice that the skink chief has 2 magic armor categories and no magic weapon category. Also the regular ranked skinks are always 5pts over what they should be. The Lizardmen 7th edition battlescribe cat had this problem too; not sure why. Just trying to help you comb through it a bit Great job with all of this on such short notice though man!
On a PC that would be trivially easy. However, Apple, in its infinit wisdom, has made it impossible to perform such a task on the phone. If this wasn't a company phone, I would be rid of it.
I'll fix those, thanks for pointing it out! (The Chief was me linking to the long list, and the Skinks unit choice costed 5 +5 points per skink, both are not fixed) I only updated the second file, since I don't think the first one is useful for anything right now.
Thanks AC! I've added this .cat to a repository for mobile users, and its hosted at my public dropbox. I'll probably have it included in the WFB repository once we have checked it over. Until then: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17440658/WFB%20Lizardmen/index.xml Enjoy Jamie
