If the wizard who has be identified to discard 6's rolls double 6's do they still miscast even though those dice are discarded and not used to add up spell value/cost?

my friend is wondering if I select his mage, that that particular mage would then be immune to miscasts and able to roll as many dice as he wanted.

The wizard discards all 6s thus making it impossible for him to miscast, it is as if he never a 0 on those dice. However he is still limited to throwing 6 dice at any one spell (unless you're special like DE).

Let him think that is a good thing for him, after all throwing 6 dice and losing out on 2 6s will make it very difficult to get that spell off or not dispelled.

Ok, thanks for the speedy reply. He is either bringing an Ogre Kingdoms army or a Tzenetch army to battle today and I am trying out the Slann for the first time in 8th ed.
