So ive been doing a lot of searching but alas i have found very rare occasions to buy some liz cheap.

I don't mean really cheap just a decent price. I am still a little upset with the GW price change again. That and i started playing liz i have to put my Chaos SM on hold.

Usually i use ebay and bit barn etc. Ebay seems to be Rigged for lizardmen.

i notice all the bitz for liz are not really a good deal unless you need a couple. and the fact they are always sold out of the ones that i want. aka skink priest's

can anyone give a little insight?

I have used Maelstrom Games for several years. Free first class worldwide shipping, 12-15% discount on UK prices (far better than Aus prices anyway) and customer loyalty discounts as well as tiered discounts for large purchases makes them pretty hard to beat as an Aussie. ;)

Try this guy. I've done business with him a couple of times now and he has always been very helpful.

Here's a couple of my fav sites to buy from.

    http://www.bartertown.com

Bartertown is great for picking items up for cheap or trading models.

    http://www.gc-minis.com/

This is a Canadian GW dealer who starts his prices off at 30% off.

For bitz the best person to contact is Hoard of Bitz on Ebay. Contact him directly and he can get you anything you want for a very reasonable price.

I have to make a strong vote against ordering anything online.

If you play at a local gaming store, buy your models there. Period. These places only stay open because of the business YOU provide. If you are going to order somewhere else, they go out a business, and you lose your place to play. Sure you may pay a little bit more than you would if you were going to order online; yet these places need your business to say open.

Simply put, Pay where you Play!

Eh, they are most likely to stay profitable anyway. There are always people who buy things spontaneously, others who don't have the credit card/means to buy online, others who are impatient and want the miniatures NOW, and even more who probably don't even visit forums. Also remember in the case of GW stores (my local ones) they are partially funded and paid for by GW head office, which turns a profit whether I buy from the GW store or from an indy.

Now independant stores are a bit different and less likely to survive if everyone starts buying online, but if thats where you play most of them give GW products for a discount anyway and get profit from other things besides GW.

Also, for me at least, it is a bit more than a small difference in price. So much so that for most things I am simply not willing to pay GW price, so they either get my business through online stores or don't get it at all. For example, it costs $50 Aus for a regiment box, the GW UK price is 18 GBP which works out to around $35 Aus. Just from GW prices alone (not online store discounts) I am already paying a whopping 30% more by buying from my local GW! If it was 5%, I wouldn't care, hell if it was 10% I would probably cop it most of the time, but 30%? Talk about being boned. I know Canada and New Zealand get it pretty bad as well.

Now if I look at my indy, Maelstrom, the price becomes cheaper again, down to $30.50 and almost 40% cheaper than my local GW prices. 40!!! Can you justify paying 40% more for a product than you have to to 'keep your local store profitable?' I sure as hell can't. Add to this that Maelstrom provides what GW never has in the form of friendly customer service and customer loyalty discounts, plus I never pay any postage.... Well, if my local store gets shut down because of a loss of business it is their own damn fault for charging too much. The market is about providing value in the eyes of the customer and clearly at the moment GW stores fail horribly. I only hope they balance it up by improving GW stores and not by screwing over indies.

I buy all my paints, brushes, and other hobby supplies from my LGS. But the models are just too expencive to buy without looking for a discount somewhere. Besides, my closest gaming store is over an hour away.

So far, I have bought everything straight from GW, I like hanging out their with events....

They had a draw lately, giving away a board, terrain and models...

I got 5 dwarf ironbreakers, a dark elf, lots of cool bits, a chaos warrior (gven to friend whos starting them)
A stormvermin, and half of throt the unclean (both given to the skaven player as a bribe to not use skink slaves :D )

AND LOTS of awesome bits, like a orc shaman for my brother as his bday gift, a bunch of metal pieces like a chaos horse body and head...(SOOOOO converting this onto my stegadon base)

Basically I buy there because of all the cool events they have!
