Hi, 'In your first herophase place a blot toad... for each of your units of ripperdactyl riders' - meeting engagement- Can i place the toad, even if my rippers are part of my rearguard and arrive in turn 3? (I know I can place it when they are in the clouds.) Thank you
yes, they are a part of the army and the toad it's placed in your first hero phase, without requiring for the rippers' unit to actually be on the battlefield
Yeah, Sadly the Toad isn't part of any unit, it is just a marker. And LoSaT has to target a friendly Seraphon unit.
Next follow up: The Rippers are in my Mainbody. The Mainbody arrives in Turn 2. I assume they can come down from the clouds not before turn 2?
Hmm, is there any reason worth the points to play the Shadowstrike Starhost in meeting engagements then?
meeting engagements are more designed like * here we are out on patrol, minding our own business and suddenly "oh crap there's the enemy seeing up and running at us at the same time we are seeing them, everyone rush them and fight when you get there!"*. Strategic planning and formations like a shadow strike are far less likely in a real world situation like this. In fact in the army we have a drill called "React To Contact; Close" which is considered an absolute "OH SHIT" moment (85% of the time your entire team is just fuckered in this situation no matter how you slice it). All out firepower in the direction of the enemy and advance... if you take the time to plan or find cover you are already dead
I just checked the german ghb19 and i think it states you can use reserve units. :-/ I think i need to combine those rules. So reserve is allowed and can be placed on the table where the warscroll says. BUT it has to be at the time when the rest of the force is placed. If you can't do so it is destroyed. -> no reserve for us if i understand placed properly. Or can i "place the chameleon skinks/rippers to one side" on arrival? This is very complicated for me. :-/
