Hey guys,so,i was wondering abaout the options available for the 12 skink skirmishers in my army. Ino that blowpipes get 2 shot but do not know what advantage or any statistics that they have and know absolutly nothing about javilin , ive also added a 10 day poll to help me and any others decide which one is right for them. In my opinion, the goal of skinks with missile weapons is score poisoned hits. The best way to do that is to take blowpipes. They're better than javelins as long as you are within 18" (to move into short range). Otherwise the javelins are slightly better. The blowpipes should do a little more than three wounds at move + double shot; at long range you don't want to double shot, so you'll get a little more than a wound and a half. Best case scenario is no move and just double shot in short range. That gives you about 5 wounds against T3 models. That's how I look at it. But skirmishers that can march while march-blocked with a LD test now makes skinks really, really slippery. I love it. I'm taking four units of 10 in my 2500 pt army.
nice! thanks for the help it looks like blowpipes for the moment but am still wondering about javilins but i guess the 2 poisen shots will churn out 24 shots a turn whereas the zavilins are only 12 shot from the whole unit but against the army im going to play alot (night goblins) the extra shots should whittle down the numbers but luckily for me he only has 1 fanatic in his entire army but i know which unit that is so ill keep a cheep unit to take the pain of it in the name of the old ones!
