8th Ed. Brand new to Lizardmen

    Hey everyone. first post and brand new to lizzies so i had a couple of questions. im currently trying to build a 2500 point list and get an idea of what ill be playing and then go grab the models for the list so this is what i have worked up so far.

    2500 Pts - Lizardmen Roster

    Total Roster Cost: 2497


    slann - cupped hands, iron curse icon, bsb (standard of discipline), mystery, higher state ,becalming cogitation, rumination, lore of light (or life)

    saurus scar-vet - dragon helm, venom of the firefly frog

    skink priest lvl 1 - cube of darkness

    skink priest lvl 1- Engine, dispel scroll, dawnstone

    skink skirmishers 10

    skink skirmishers 10

    Temple guard 20 fc - burning blade of chotec

    saurus warriors 26 fc -

    saurus warriors 26 fc -

    salamander 4 handlers

    salamander 4 handlers



    So first question obviously would be do i have any horrible choices in the list :)

    Second would be what lore would you guys recommend on the slann? currently i am thinking light but life looks good to especially with the TG deathstary unit of doom.

    First, welcome to the board. We are glad to have you as a member. If we can help you in any way, please let us know. As for your list, here is my opinion.

    I like the list. It is pretty strong all around. I would like to see some chameleons or terradons for war machine hunting. My preference is chameleons due to their scouting ability though. The terradons can get across the board fast though. Chameleons are the best scouts in the game though.

    As for the lore, I would probably go with Life. But a lot can be said for Light as well. With light, you can buff the steg up with Pha's protection (or the higher version for all withing 12 inches) to protect you from shooting. That can be a huge advantage. Also, the WS10 I10 (speed of light) coupled with Birona's timewarp is amazing (if you can get them off). A way to make sure that this happens, is to cast them at the lower level. Those two spells even make skinks a threat.

    The biggest drawback to light is that if you take a lot of casualties, you are down those models. With life you can regrow everything. T6 skinks are pretty tough too. T8 saurus and TG are awesome.
