Bretonnia and Empire... looks all the same to me... except Bretonnia looks like wild men (because of their fancy colour choice) and Empire a little more "straigthened up" if you know what I mean... but why not slam together men and men and what is the actual difference. Would be like having zombies and ghouls in 1 race and vampires and skeletons in another (Would call the 1 Undeads and the other Vampire Count )
Actually undead used to be a single army, then they split into the two current armies of VC and TK. Really Bretonnians and Empire are very different. Historically, the empire represents the german empire and utilizes a lot of gunpowder, and generally focuses more on foot troops. The Bretonnians represent France/England, they have the superior knights and lance formation of the French and the lines of longbowmen of the English. There is also a bit of a king arthur theme happening with the lady of the lake and grail knights. Basically, the two armies are based on completely different things and their own history and location in the warhammer world is quite different, they are definitely different enough to have an army each.
Definitely agree woth strewart on this. Each army has its own distinct characteristics and background. Also, tactics are very different since empire focus greatly on warmachines, blocks of troops and some fast cavalry whilst brettonia is rather composed of units of heavy cavalry (knights) and archers as support. Being humans does not mean that they are the same. Same as HE, DE and WE are all different from each other even though they are all elves.
