They are a very very one dimensional army, you kno EXACTLY what they are going to do. They will try to reach combat and hit with their lances as quickly as possible before you shoot them. They are forgiving for newbs, and when two new players face each other the Brets will probably win except maybe against the new tier 1 armies.

Against an advanced opponent, it is actually very very hard to win as Bretonnians, the best you can hope for is a draw. Their lances have massive flanks which makes them awkward to manouvre and somewhat easy to flank, if they do not break the opponent on the charge they are completely useless against pretty much everything. They have no holding power. And they need to reach combat ASAP so they don't get shot up first, because even the loss of 2-3 knights massively reduces their combat potential.

Actually, they are so predictable you even know who is going to get first turn. You will because they prey to the lady to get that little ward save.

If the odds are stacked against one of your units, and you don't think it will survive the charge, then flee! Cold blooded will get you back, and it should leave their unit in an awkward position. I would back a block of saurus to hold against a lance though.
